360 had one year ahead... and Australia never was a 360 land... there are just two 360 lands: US and UK.

do more research or if you just talking about big markets

By VGC.

Total = 360 land (because US and UK)
America = 360 land (because US only)
Japan = PS3 land
Total Others = PS3 land (because all except UK)
UK = 360 land
France = PS3 land
Germany = PS3 land
Spain = PS3 land
Italy = PS3 land
Scandinavia = tie
Other Europe = PS3 land
Australia = tie
Other = PS3 land

So give another 360 land???

Other is all other contries beside Europe and Australia... so Mid East, Asia, etc.

And US is 90% of sales for 360 in America... Cananda is tied today (but PS3 has selling better)... Brazil and other Latin Americam contries is PS3... so Mexico is 360??? I don't think so.

The gap in US is so much big to PS3 just with Canada, Brazil, Mexico (?), Argentina, Chile, etc... etc.

So show me a contrie beside US and UK where 360 dominate.

I must admit I am surprised. From the posts of some members I was led to believe that Australia was totally x360 land, like it had sold twice as much as the PS3.

What is the gap between launches? Is the x360 a year or a year and a half ahead there?

Either way PS3 made up some serious ground considering the price.

Thanks, I was thinking the gap was a year and a half like europe.

Honestly, the amount of times I read in these forums that Australia is x360 land...

If I had the time I am sure I can find a lot of evidence to support this.

Then again, some people are so desperate to claim a "win" that even if the x360 sold ONE more console than the PS3 that would be considered a "win" and make a country "x360 land".

Although this doesn't give the number of units sold, MS sold £232M of x360s in 2010 and Sony sold £229M of PS3s.

Even with the x360 being cheaper I don't see this as a massive sales gap.

Yes, x360 wins UK but it is no way as decisive as PS3 in Japan or X360 in NA.

Can us get a late month with adjustments done.

VGC Americas Jan 2010:
PS3 - 386k
360 - 374k

NPD US Jan 2010:
PS3 - 276k (88.7%)
360 - 332k (71.5%)

You want I get another month?  Just make your choice at least a year late because the adjustments.

Edit - TheSource used a 86% proportion for US in your NPD estimate... but that's not real proportion because 360 is near 90% and PS3 near 70%.

Lifetime sales in UK was:

PS3: 3,841,121
360: 6,119,172

Seems the same proportion to US gap (3:2 360:PS3).

PS. 360 doesn't exists in Japan... (5:1 PS3:360)

Except, VGchartz doesn't count the free PS3's givin away.

You never fail to amaze me.

VGChartz happily enough counts free Wii Sports and touts it as the best selling game of all time.

If VGChartz can do that, it can count PS3's that come with over a grands worth of TV.
