Forums - Gaming - Gears of War Not Coming to PS3 Anytime Soon Says Epic Games

Gears of War is published by Microsoft, basically is not going to happen EVER!!! Why do you think Bioware had to create a comic book for ME1 on ME2?? Cuz Microsoft published the first one, even if Bioware wanted to release the game on PS3 Microsoft has the last word and we all know what it is. As a PS3 gamer, I can tell you that we don't need Gears of War, we already have very good exclusives and if for some reason Gears ends up on PS3..then why would you need a 360 for?

I said the same thing once Mass Effect came to the PS3. Why get a 360 again if the PS3 has the games I want now. Gears would be overkill. Microsoft would have to pull the plug (unless they could find a new IP to buy) on the core and focus solely on kinect.

"Anytime Soon" hmmmmmmmmmm...

It does really make you wonder..LOL

Microsofts relationship with Epic is in now way the same as Insomniac and Sony. Insomniac by choice has been loyal to Sony's platform for three generations. Sony could buy them, but they don't have to and I've seen interviews a while back talking about such situations as this. Insomniacs games are like unofficial second party. With Epic they are still making multiplatform titles. Insomniac has been making exclusives for Sony since 1996. Theres no real subtration that needs to be done to find the difference.

No they couldn't, and that's because Insomniac has said they won't sell and want to remain independent.  It wouldn't surprise me if Sony's made offers before honestly.

Also, Insomniac is now developing 360 games.

PS3 controller does suck balls, I cant play shooters for shit on it

I just never understood this, since I have no problems adapting to shooters on the PlayStation controller, but eh, to each his own I guess.

How would you describe the Resistance franchise, for example ofcourse...

While I'd rather not butt in, I'm just going to correct you here: Sony, if I'm not mistaken, own the Resistance IP. Microsoft, on the other hand, does not own the Gears of War IP. Owning the IP, and publishing rights, are two different things.

So they can't be compared.

But hey, it's easier to blame Sony fanboys, right...

Yeah, so what you're saying is Insomniac is forced into exclusivity, while M$ pays for their exclusivity...interesting.  Makes you wonder why Insomniac is launching a multiplatform, when they could be fat dumb and happy launching games on the PS3 forever....

I'm not sure I follow anymore...dude, I'm honestly not trying to turn this into a flame war, but it's a simple concept. No need to twist my words around.
