I’m guessing that Max is just taking some extra time to clean up and drop a little weight before his next big adventure
Come with me as I take you on a short bullet point journey of what we know about the history of Max Payne 3′s development.
- March of 2009 – Rockstar announced that they were working on Max Payne 3 and it would launch the Winter of that year.
- September of 2009 – Strauss Zelnick announced that Max Payne 3 would ship sometime between February and June of 2010 (so much for Winter 2009).
- December of 2009 – Take-Two announced that Max was getting delayed again and would now come out between August and October 2010.
- January of 2010 – We get unconfirmed word from the wife of a Rockstar employee that Max Payne 3′s development was in trouble (shocking).
- March of 2010 – Take-Two announced that one of these titles would get pushed to fiscal 2011; L.A. Noire, Mafia II, Max Payne 3, Civ V. (Care to guess which one ended up getting delayed?)
- June of 2010 – Max Payne 3 gets pulled from Rockstar’s E3 plans
- Also in June of 2010 – Max Payne 3 officially bumped out of Take-Two’s fiscal 2010 (again shocking)
- December 2010 – Max Payne 3 not even listed on Take-Two’s planned release schedule
- February 8, 2011 (today) – Max Payne 3 still missing from Take-Two’s update planned release schedule which contains several 2012 titles.
