The game is sitting at a Metacritic score of 68 right now, that is a far cry from the 80s that the Mario sports games seems to have. From the reviews ive read, it seems the game is too shallow, not enough depth. While I understand it is hard to take a sports game and make it accesible and still have to have some kind of detail of the actual sport its emulating, the guys at Camelot made it look easy gen after gen, system after system. I was hoping it would fill the void that MarioTennis/Golf has left, but it seems that is not the case. Even with the online im gonna pass, it will probably do well anyway. This is a Mario game after all.

I probably don't know enough about MSM but I think it's more or less a fine example of wasted potential.

Yeah I played Mario 3 on 3 basketball... I saw this one coming from a mile away, they make really crappy Mario sports games, if they had given this to the Punch Out!!!/Mario Strikers team it would be pure win...

Yea, Secret Level Games are awesome. Sega hijacked them though, they are making Thor game right now.

Next Level Games. Secret Level did work for Sega (made Golden Axe: Beast Rider, iirc), but they're gone now.
