I probably don't know enough about MSM but I think it's more or less a fine example of wasted potential.

I mean, c'mon, a mixed-sports game with a Mario theme. Win! Oh, and let's put Final Fantasy into the mix as well. Major win! You can't screw something like that up, unless you're lazy.
