It was announced at E3 iirc.  I think there might've even been one screen, but I'm not sure now.

I wouldn't get too excited just yet, it may end up being just another conversion of NG1.  Which is cool, but less cool an original effort would be.

I know the feeling, all these re-makes of Cave Story could be better spent just...making the sequel. I know they say it's coming, but still...

Anyway, hopefully it'll be like Kingdom Hearts 3D, a totally new game

As said before, this is meant to be more of a compiling thread than a comparative one.  Obviously NGP much farther off, so it's going to have much, much more announced when it's 2 weeks away from launch.

If you want to "launch align" things though, 10 months ago 3DS had over 70 games announced for it already.  In fact, if you want I can give you a comparative list of titles versus where nGP is now in it's timeline.

well the listing on its own it a comparative thing furthermore there are only 3rd party games announced for ngp since most of 3rd parties learned about it likely when it was announced while 3ds was announced in march 2010 and there were already 3rd parties that had the prototype so in e3 2010 a lot of 3rd party titles were announced and the same will happen with ngp this year in e3 your goal here is just to say to people :look no 3rd party games for ngp that 's what would i had understood if i was searching the net and then suddenly get in here and see this thread you are just a classic nintendo fanboy

3DS was announced earlier in it's cycle than NGP was... and the only reason for the initial 3DS announcement (which was an investor announcement, not even a public release actually) was because they wanted to beat the press leaks that were coming.  If not for that, E3 would've been the first reveal.

Developers have also had NGP kits since at least last summer, and it was originally planned to be revealed at E3 last year as well.  Sony pulled the announcement last second for whatever reason.

Launch aligned though, NGP now is where 3DS was around E3 last year.  That's how far out each would be from their launch.
