3DS was announced earlier in it's cycle than NGP was... and the only reason for the initial 3DS announcement (which was an investor announcement, not even a public release actually) was because they wanted to beat the press leaks that were coming. If not for that, E3 would've been the first reveal.
Developers have also had NGP kits since at least last summer, and it was originally planned to be revealed at E3 last year as well. Sony pulled the announcement last second for whatever reason.
Launch aligned though, NGP now is where 3DS was around E3 last year. That's how far out each would be from their launch.
Don't continue to go offtopic with calling the thread stupid and calling people fanboys though. That's bannable behavior.
