I think some people still get tangled with resolution output and internal rendering resolution. You can upscale to 1080p, but it doesn't mean that the game is rendered at this resolution. Almost no games use 1080p as it's internal rendering resolution, Wipeout HD is one of the few, and not all the time, as it uses different horizontal resolutions to keep a steady framerate.

And yet the PS3 has been putting out 1080P games for some time. The issue with this game and 1080P is the amount of things going on at the same time coupled with the detail. Not to get into a pissing match here, but first party PS3 games are the best looking console games that provide a much higher level of detail than provided by other consoles. In playing KZ3 Beta it also seems that they wanted to speed the game up a bit due to complaints about KZ2. So to assist frame rate while maintaining the GQ of the first game, they needed to hold off on resolution size.

Console is really a different experience than playing on console/TV. Plus, the devs focus a lot more on consoles, which gets most of the best games.

And, no need to get defensive. I am not concerned nor attacking PS3 of yours.

There is a difference between full HD and 1080p.

1080p is 1080p, full HD is 1920 x 1080.

There are games on the PS3 that run on 1080p. GT 5 and prologue are some examples.

How about Wipeout? 1080p at a solid 60FPS? And Ridge Racer 7 does the same if I'm correct.

I think devs are just getting lazier to be honest with you...

AFAIK Wipeout isn't really 1080p, or what people understands it's 1080p (16/9) as it's horizontal resolution changes at real time to keep a steady framerate.
