A few days ago we just got 55 inch 3D HD TV. Needless to say I'm excited as hell to use my ps3 on it especially some of the 3D titles like killzone. I already use my PC for 3d gaming, but playing it on that huge screen and with some damn fine games gets my gears a grinding
Soooo I've had a launch model 60 Gig ps3 all this while. About a year and a half ago i got the "ps3 can't read blu-ray disc error." No problem i have 3 jobs, I'll send it in and get it repaired. Plunked 150 down. Got it fixed, same ps3 back and everything. About 7 months later i get the yellow light of death. I leave the ps3 alone for a few months, because I can't afford to fix it again. I just got done paying for college, and had to replace a transmission on my car. I also lost all 3 jobs the same week. 2 were season, the third just laid me off because of the economy. I decide to pry open the thing and rip it apart. Borrowed a few tools from my uncle and got it working again around November.
Welllllll, now that we get this damn nice TV. My ps3 decides to yellow light on me....again. Repairing the thing takes a damn long process. I literally had to take it apart until it was nothing, but a motherboard to fix it the first time. I could do the fix again, however it just....takes a better part of they day for me to do, and after i fixed it the first time for some reason the fans had to be on full blast.....I mean they sounded worse than taking 3 launch 360's at one time.
Want to buy another ps3, but no ones hiring especially since I'm going to be going into the air force in a few months they don't think it's worth their time or money to train me, and understandly so.
So now I'm sitting here....with this ginormous beauty looking at me.....and a dead ps3 sitting next to it that can't make use of it's awesomeness in full. I' am now a sad sad man....I'll probably fix the ps3 sometime when my uncle gets back. I need a few if his tools to actually fix it, but still frustrating as hell.
CURRENTLY PLAYING: Warframe, Witcher 2
