No it isn't. It's a light novel that was adapted into an anime. This anime is popular, but it's DVD and BluRay sales weren't very high. The very high sales of the game are even more surprising consider that.

Yes, they began making a manga as well, but the source material is a light novel. The game came about from the anime. The manga has zero influence on the game at all (especially as it sold terribly).

But you said that it wasn't a manga. And as far as I know the manga have more similarities with the light novel than the anime (Not sure about this, but I think it has a different ending, good or bad ending meh I dont really know about that and I dont care either). The true is that it is a manga, an anime and a light novel. You should've said that it is based on the anime instead of the manga or light novel and not that it isn't a manga

You always refer to an intellectual property from its source material (or at least it's most popular). The manga for this game might as well not exist. It's just any other movie that gets a side comic, etc. You wouldn't say that Twilight is a manga despite having such. Whenever referring the series, you always point to the books. Same with Harry Potter.

Your first post seemed like your were saying that there's no manga and now you are just putting technicism to prove your point (I actually agree with it, but in a casual conversation it's ok for me to say that is a manga, an anime and a light novel) . And if you are saying that you refer to an intellectual propery from it's source material then dont add "or at least most popular" because I think it should be one or the other (the first one for me). We can continue with this but I bet that the person who asked the question in the first place doesnt care.
