Capcom shared its third quarter earnings today. The company had increases in sales and earnings due in large part to Monster Hunter.
For the nine months through December, sales were 70,773 million yen, up 41.6% from the same period last year. Operating income was up 165.1% to 12,769 million yen, and net profits up 294.8% to 6,836 million yen.
In its earnings statement, the company made note of strong sales of Monster Hunter Freedom 3, which has shipped more than four million units since its December 1 release. Dead Rising 2 has been doing well overseas, the company said, with shipments of over 2 million units.
Other games mentioned for strong performance include Super Street Fighter IV, Sengoku Basara Samurai Heroes and Monster Hunter Diary. Super SFIV shipped 1.6 million units, mainly to Europe and the United States.
Four games reached million seller status over the period. Joining Monster Hunter Freedom 3, Dead Rising 2 and Super SFIV was Lost Planet 2, which saw "steady sales" of 1.5 million units. Capcom did note, however, that this figure was less than projections.
