Forums - Nintendo - What? Can these wii US numbers be right? Under 200K Is supply THAT limited?

I thought Nintendo had another  BIG boost this weekend for selected retailers such as bestbuy and target. Was that in truth just a way of putting what little they had left ALL in those few retailers with nobody else getting any as a way of creating the illusion that there was still stock left? I mean only just above 170k? That's a HUGE drop in supply if these numbers are accurate. We need a news story explaining this little anomaly, me thinks.

 the wii explosion will be on next weeks numbers.  target/BB/ect where holding back consols one this weeks numbers for the wii explosion.  posted numbers go up to the 15th.  wii explosion started the 16th.

I'm curious as to whether rainchecks will be tracked or if the wii's themselves will be tracked in January. Because if they track the rainchecks now, then there will be a huge boost followed by a huge lull as all the wii's for January would have already been counted in december.

 i expected a lull due to reports that target/BB/ect. were holding back some stock.  What pisses me off is this next week there are going to be dozens of news articles reporting the demise of the wii due to this week's sales.  mark my words sony/MS PR will go into full swing this week.

 Where would they get their numbers?  This site is the only site that provides weekly estimates, isn't it?  If that were to happen VGChartz would certainly be considered a reliable, credible source.
