not really it has features that make it very diffrent then the 3ds. if it would be the same price then it coud get sales, the more console oirented people would buy it.  also many people could have a 3ds/psp2 is psp2 does manage to have a good exclusive 3rd party line up. but 3ds will still rape it because of casual support.

A $250 NGP would be proof that Sony hates their investors.

 

At that price, I'd see a closer sales battle without either one dominating.

1# It still would beat the 3DS in sales.

2# Sony would bakrupt. Seriously, they would lose at least $150 in each NGP they sold. No one would invest in Sony if they are losing that much.

...what if we end up with the same wii vs. hd dynamic though?

NGP gets call of duty -- 3DS gets the imagine series

NGP gets assassins creed -- 3DS gets carnivil games

i wasn't around long enough to know but i'm guess a lot of people had the same though about the DS vs. the psp but 3rd parties seem to have pigeon holed nintendo pretty badly now.  it might end up happening just because 3rd parties will it to be true...

Exactly, it seems we're the only crazy people who think the NGP and 3DS are really doomed.
