Info taken from Gaf

- Microsoft reported 55% growth in revenue for the Entertainment & Devices Division, as the success of the Kinect sensor boosted sales of Xbox 360 consoles, Xbox Live subscriptions and Xbox games.

- Entertainment and Devices Division posted operating income of $679 million

- Microsoft sold 8 million units of Kinect sensors in just 60 days

- Xbox 360 console units up 21%

Don't know how to put the table up for consoles but the table is here in the link: http://www.neogaf.com/forum/showthread.php?t=419995

The games division made $680 million in three months. That is insane!

That is up from  $370 million in the same quarter in 09.

I think that goes to show if MS want to price cut hard they can do so at any time.

6.3million for 360

I have to say that's a pretty healthy profit considering it includes the Kinect launch costs.

Anyone can guess. It takes no effort to throw out lots of predictions and have some of them be correct. You are not and wiser or better for having your guesses be right. Even a blind man can hit the bullseye.

I hope this stops the "500 million in marketing" memo. The E/D made almost 700 million (almost 1.1 billion in q1 and q2 combined) in profit which means that the marketing budget for kinect turned out to be a great investment. Aditionally MS shipped almost as many units as the best quarter for the ps3 (which is 6.5 million) which considering MS'.....unique situation in Japan is amazing, IMO .

The momentum is definitely in Microsoft's corner right now.

Well the people who were bitching about MS's marketing budget are eating crow thanks to Kinect being a massive success.
