$400 to $500 makes sense when you consider comparable (by the holidays) smartphones and tablets. Its essentially the same feature set with additional core gaming functionality. People expecting different are being dillusional.

I expect Sony to offer it a a small loss to themselves at $400 for wifi only and $500 for 3G/wifi.

Then maybe we shouldn't include sales of it here, since we don't track smartphones and tablets.

OR I can change my wording to say that its  a portable gaming console with added features similar to smartphones/tablets in that Android provides the rest. Thus justifying the higher launch prices.

god gamestop must not want any pre-orders putting up a stupid price like that... sony would be smart not to price it above 400
