Why are so many people saying that they are becoming less and less interested in the 3DS?

NGP certainly looks awesome in terms of hardware, but 3DS has a seriously awesome list of games coming out (not all at launch).  The 3DS isn't nearly as kiddy as the DS was.  Check out this list of announced games:

http://www.gamespot.com/games.html?type=games&platform=1068&mode=all&sort=views&dlx_type=all&sortdir=asc&official=all

The NGP doesn't really have that much announced game-wise yet-- so my excitement is definitely with the 3DS right now.  This is especially true for 3 reasons:

1. Nintendo 1st party games

2. 3DS games will almost certainly be cheaper.  If NGP games are PS3-level, does that mean they will cost $60?

3.  3DS has managed to wrangle away many of the best developers from the PSP that completely ignored the DS.

You're witnessing what I like to call "announcement hype". The 3DS was hyped to the max when it was first announced, then the hype died down a little. Then when the PSP2 is announced, it's hyped to the max as well and people start making "PSP2 is better" claims only after JUST seeing it. It's hype, and it will die down, especially when complaints start rolling in for the PSP2. People are just letting it out because the fanboy in them cannot contain themselves (on both sides).

You're right about the games - The 3DS has an amazing line-up compared to the PSP2. Isn't that all it took for the DS to beat the PSP? =P

how could you even make that statement?  They haven't even showed any psp2 games, just tech demos.

I will be getting both of them.

I love handhelds and there is just as much difference going into next gen as there is this gen (with the current handhelds).

The best part is that they are releasing far enough apart that i can justify it to myself :)

For me, the 3DS is a definite, though not at launch. I might get the NGP at some point, though the lack of BC to the UMDs will give me some pause.

That is very untrue. Uncharted was a real game, so was hot shots golf. Did you not pay attention?

I will be getting the psp2 for sure. I wish the first psp had had dual analouge sticks and this does so i am sold!

Because after initial enthusiasm i felt during E3 every next news was cold shower

1. Battery Life

2. region locking

3. technical specification on the level of current day smartphone

4. constant network connections without my control

5. insane game and hardware pricing (if you find good sale price you can get PS3 for less than Nintendo Poland wants)

For me 3DS is not worth more than 180$ at the moment considering i'm only interested in Zelda and Atlus Devil Survivor at the moment.

On the other hand NGS looks lot more atractive

- amazing control options - dual analogs, gyroscopes (i learned to apreciate what they can do through gaming on my android), touchscreen and most importantly touchpad on the back which brings promises of using all the touchscreen goodness without your finger blocking half the screen

- amazing OLED screen

- trophies

- insane power under the hood - CPU twice as powerfull as high end smartphones that enter production today, GPU 4 times more powerfull than Iphone 4 (which already beats 3DS graphic wise with epic citadel)  so when 3DS will fell outdated in 2-3 years NGS will still rival smartphoes from 2013-2014.

3DS ill wait a bit till the big games come out (zelda, kid icarus,MGS,KH)

Just 3DS. I gave up on sony after the PS1 but wouldn't mind trying it out when a friend buys that psp2.

3DS and if an Ico game comes to the PSP2 i will have to buy that as well but only if it is a new game not a remake

    R.I.P Mr Iwata :'(

3DS at launch, NGP maybe yes or maybe not, will decide as more info and videos come out
