Don't know about you, but this line up looks a little more complete than NGP's revealed lineup yesterday.

lol did you even read my post?

The 3DS is releasing in a month, the NGP is releasing in probably 10 or 11 months...did you spot a difference there?

OT Gilgamesh he was listing the 3DS titles announced at Nintendo's press conference at E3. All those games were announced the day the 3DS was revealed. That was about as long before 3DS launch as this conference is before NGP. Fact is Nintendo and third parties announced all these games on the during the unvieling of 3DS.

This is why I created my lack of software thread. Because Nintendo announced what 30 games day one, while Sony announced what 10? I had expected for Sony to go all out with announcements.

My logic is that Sony should want to derail the 3DS as much as possible ahead of launch and a solid announcement on software is the only thing that could potentially do that.

P.S I do not believe NGP is doomed anymore then 3DS, Wii or 360. I write negative threads about all the consoles as well as positive ones.

But I gotta admit Badgenome did make me laugh my ass off with his OP!

During the Playstation meeting they had a list of all developers that were working on the NGP, it was a huge list, I thought they were credits at first. Obivously all games won't be announced then, they would want to save that for something like E3 or TGS like Nintendo did, why play all your cards now when your a year away from launch, that gives the competition way to much time to trump them, not to mention would give them nothing to show off during the biggest gaming events of the year. One of the developers that came on stage last night said he's working on some other games for the NGP but couldn't say anything more about it.

Revealing a name is something that re-assures gamers and wouldn't take away from any big unvieling at any of the years big game shows. When 3DS was unvieled they listed games but they did not show screens or video for most of them. We still don't know what games like Sonic are going to look like. Also E3 2010 was almost a year before 3DS launch and they revealed alot of names.

I know their was a developer list. But game names would have had a much larger impact even if they didn't release screens or video. This in turn would build up hype on the forums and gain them attention at the video game conventions.

Not to mention a big list of like 30 games could really damage Nintendo's launch. Gamers might see games on NGP they would rather have then on 3DS inturn effecting their decision to purchase 3DS.

I always think of how Sony , MS and Nintendo are going to counter each other to gain market dominance. What offensive actions can Sony do to drag attention away from Nintendo. A list of 30 or so games would have been perfect and revealing screens and video at their future conferences would definatly keep the spot light off Nintendo.

I think the NGP got plenty of attention, they showed off a lot of things it can do other then games which was exciting to see.

True but doesn't Nintendo always do this, they launch with a lot of games whether there good or bad.

But the way I see it is the games and amount don't really matter, I see the NGP to be a hardcore machine and 3DS a casual machine. There both going to have really different top selling games, NGP could have a lot of FPS for top games cause of the dual analogue unlike the DS. It's like PS360 version Wii they both have very different games and both are a very big success. I find it hard to believe that a large majority of people will contemplate which handheld to get, most already know what they want.

Personally, I thought they'll be aiming for a casual audience this time like the DS and as such, I'm shocked by the specs of the NGP. We'll see how it goes. I'm not really a fan of portables period and am even kind of pissed at the NGP because it means the ps3 gets less attention from sony now but I may probably get one down the line if there are games on it that interest me that much.

Too bad it doesnt have BC though at least with UMDS. It's should at least have dl for PSP games. Sony needs to put the whole psp library on psn ASAP.

NGP does have BC with dl PSP games, hell Capcom showed Monster Hunter Tri running on the thing for a reason.

I don't ever recall a Nintendo console launching with more then 10 or so games. Origionally Wii was supposed to launch with fifteen but if I recall it launched with about 10 or less. Whether they are good or bad is in the eye of the beholder for the most part. The quality of launch titles tends to be high, sometimes in the case of Luigi's Mansion and such gamers don't end up liking the game as much but the quality was still pretty high.

I think the notion that NGP is hardcore and 3DS isn't is very misguided (No offence) but look at the line-up for the 3DS. Street Fighter, MetalGear, Resident Evil , Dead Or Alive. Sure their aren't many shooters but shooters aren't nescesarily the defintion of hardcore.

I'd say both consoles 3DS and NGP are equally hardcore. 3DS has more casual games but still packs a massive hardcore punch. If you don't think the mentioned IP's are hardcore then what kind of games do you think are? Because if MetalGear, Resident Evil , Dead or Alive and Street Fighter aren't hardcore what is?

Right now Nintendo is marketing the 3DS as a hardcore gaming device and thats exactly what Sony is doing. If Sony announced more games they could have taken some of Nintendo's hardcore market. A perfect example, if Metal Gear was announced for NGP or Resident Evil or Dead Or Alive or Street Fighter or Mortal Kombat etc...etc... a gamer might think twice about purchasing a 3DS, would they rather play their favorite franchise on a high def screen with loads of features or play a graphically challenged 3D counter part?

So Nintendo consumers would shift over to Sony as most of the consumers can't afford to get both NGP and 3DS. Their for Sony would be stealing sales from Nintendo.

Sure they can try to introduce hardcore games but that doesn't exactly make it a hardcore gaming machine, we'll see what sales are like . But I really don't see the 3DS hardcore at all, the average consumer is just going to assume this just a DS but now 3D (which technically it is) and when you think DS what games come to mind, casual.

I think the average person thinks of the 3DS as casual and NGP hardcore, to test this I'll make a thread and see whatVG Chartz thinks.

When the 3ds was announced, no games were anounced and the 3ds was not even shown. Seriously, the misinformation that is being spread around here is crazy. We had to wait till E3 to actually see the 3ds and get games info.

Actually, the most Doomed  gaming system is the Wii. I have been seeing threads on it for 4 years now and they still pop out every once in a while.

Let's just say it's AS doomed.

Seriously, it just got announced, and already we're getting doomed threads.

Rockstar: Announce Bully 2 already and make gamers proud!

Kojima: Come out with Project S already!

So does NGP stand for" Not Good Portable"? lololol
