| ultraslick said: There is really no chance Sony would ever consider UMD to be a priority, and imo the inclusion of umd in the psp2 would be suicide. What Sony can do however is create an adapter which is simply an external umd drive which can plug into the psp2, (as well as the go) and this would solve all of your problems. One could possibly even do a one time transfer from umd to the hard drive maybe so umd's could still be enjoyed on a protable system in todays modern world, as they would be essentially converted into digital games. Nice thread, it was a good read. I'm sure Sony will have everything correct for the PSP2 but I would not be suprised if it is $350 at launch. |
Considering your solution to the UMD issue, that does sound like a nifty idea. The one time transfer would be cool(possibly erasing data from the disc after copied or forcing you to crack the plastic casing so they will no longer play in PSP).
As far as pricing tho I would be satisfied with 350 with the kind of tech it might be bringing but the sweetspot is 250. Either way I will be getting one CLOSE to launch(always wait to weed out defectives).
