Oh shit there is no solution to this Nintendo is Doomed!! Oh wait what does dis button do?! Oohhhhhh click! Oh I feel better now!

You have a slider, slide the damn thing and problemas solved!

Seems like people complain even when there is a solution. If they don’t get that they complain and if they don’t get the other thing they complain! Ok so take both then? Nooo they still complain!!

Well I sure hope I don't get motion sick during play. I want to enjoy the 3D goodness. If I had to turn the 3D off  then theirs not going to be much of a difference between 3DS and PSP2, I want my handhelds to be unique and offer new experiances. As such I better not get sick because I wanna experiance 3D gaming on 3DS, screw turning off 3D.

However I have only once ever gotten sick watching a 3D movie. But the report said the closer you are to the screen the more prone you are to feeling sick. So I'll just have to wait and see if the 3DS makes me sick, and as I said before turning off the 3D mode would be a major downer for me, I wanna experiance it the same way everyone else does!

Well a Nintendo console is always unique because it has Nintendo games. Now if you do not care about those then you should buy a PSP2 as it will offer you better graphics. For me even if it only was the usual 3D I would buy it as I will have Nintendo games on it and for me that is all that matters.

You have a choice no one can force you to play it in 3D or buy it for that matter. If you get sick then that is bad for you. I don’t get sick so that is good for me. Some people get sick out of playing an FPS well too bad for them. And some get sick out of being at sea. Well too bad for them as well. But you all have one thing in common which is choice :P

It is not fair I know but what can you do? I usually just suck it up and move.

70,000 people at E3 2010.  How many reports did we get about the 3DS making anyone dizzy or sick?   At 50%, that should have been 35,000 reports.  At even 6%, we still should have received 4,200 reports.   But they were quite rare and certainly didn't amount to those figures.

Of that 70,000 how many got hands on with the 3DS? I know only a few thousand were present at Nintendo's conference. Also many of the 70,000 were retailers who probubly wouldn't have reported these problems online or too websites. Then of the remaining few thousand many probubly avoided standing in line for hours and just went to other booths.

I went to PAX and the biggest game of the show was Duke Nukem, everyone wanted to see it. Their were 80,000 people a day. However how many actually went to play Duke Nukem? I waited almost six hours to play and I'm sure the 3DS line at E3 was longer.

So I'd bet only about 10,000 or so people at E3 got hands on with 3DS (Just a guess) that would mean like 600 complaints. Now I've heard people on this forum and others who have said they played 3DS and they had some symptoms.

Also as I said these stats weren't specifically about 3DS, it was about 3D in general. I know several people who can't watch 3D in theaters because they get sick (My mom being one of them). It does not shock me that six percent have negative reactions.

Very few at E3 didn't check out the 3DS.  Nintendo had a pretty efficient inflow system for the 3DS booth that allowed far less waiting than their usual lines.  2 hours versus the usual 6.

But to get a grasp of how many people tested out the 3DS, when the doors opened at 9:00 AM, the 3DS line was already completely packed with developers and exhibitors.

And having access to a means to provide ones opinion on something is as ubiquitious as having an Internet connection itself.   From being media itself, to commenting on articles from the media to personal blogs and even communicating the problem to others who would undoubtedly make the online reference at some point (e.g., my friend at E3 got dizzy...blah, blah, blah).

There is also the sqeaky voice factor.  People tend to be 10 times more vocal about something they didn't like than something they did.  Get bad service at a restaurant and you'll tell everyone.  Get good service and you may mention it to no one at all.  With all the glowing 3DS reports, those that actually had a bad expereince would ensure they go out of their way to let it be known.  Wouldn't you?  Everyone says X is great but it made you sick.  Wouldn't you be shouting your story from the tops of the mountains that X has a problem?

So given the nature of how negative news spreads, how so little it received after a sizable portion of 70,000 tried it, the ease at voicing negative concerns on the Internet and the relatively dubious report from a Japanese magazine called "Friday", I'd say the issue is quite minimal.

I think it is different when comparing a limited exposure to prolonged exposure. I suspect issues that we do not see today surface based on prolonged use.

Currently we have numbers of persons who appear to struggle with  watching large screen 3D events what we do not have are figures of people looking a small 3D screens for longer periods of time. It is the very cutting edge nature of what Nintendo are offering that make it exciting it is also potentially the reason why some people may never own one.

I don't doubt the effect it has on a minority I question whether it will actually matter.

good OP joecool - in all the fanboy fanatics it seems this fact was lost to both sides of the war.  i had a couple friends get sick from avatar and refuse to see anything else in 3D.  it's a shame too -- i think 3D is spectacular but i guess i don't get sick from it.

I think I wont get sick, after I've seen some 3D affects I tend to feel groovy than ill.

I'm sure there is some truth to it, I do expect it to be something most people will overcome after a couple weeks of half hour play sessions though.

For some reason I don't think I'll be effected personally.  Hopefully anyway.

Its not something you can just get used to. hes not saying there is anything wrong with the 3ds simply that some peoples brains cant process the information of the 2 images properly. Im not getting it either way so im just here for the melt downs :D of which there where none :(

Yeah i know my spelling sucks but im dysgraphic so live with it :3

I DON'T THINK IT HAS ANY TRUTH IN IT.

IT'S A LIE

IT WILL DIE

THE 3DS WILL REACH THE SKY

BUT WE HAVE TO SEE THE SALES, NOT JUST THE LAUNCH, (ALLMOST ALL 3DS ARE PREORDERED) BUT THE FIRST YEAR.

WE LIVING IN A (GAMER) WORLD WHERE FANBOYS, TELL LIES, STARTING FASLS ROUMURS.    AND BIG CORPERATIONS HIRING PEOPLE TO DO IT, IN FORUMS LIKE THIS...

ONLY SALES COUNT THESE DAYS. MONEY DOSEN'T LIE

sick or not sick, 3d or not 3d who gives a shit

while i have been fine seeing 3d movies, don't get sick, don't get motion sick or anything so i assume i won't have problems with 3DS

BUT regardless the 3DS doesn't need ot be played in 3D and its catalog of games looks amazing so EVEN IF I were to be one that coudl not see 3D or got super sick i wou ldjust turn it off and enjoy playin Ocarina of Time, Star Fox, One Piece, Kid Iccarus, and so on without 3D.  Its not like those games will suck without it.  Oh and not to mentino the fun puzzle games and stuf flike professor layton

You may just turn the 3d down, or only use it for 10-20 minutes at a time.

@madelnDK that was funny, really, keep it up

Because everyone reports everything.

No but as I noted in another post above people are far more likely to report something negative than positive.  Hell, just look at this thread and the other anti-3DS threads as of late.  When people are expecting X to happen and end up having a negative expereince from it, they tend to go out of their way to ensure others know of the issue.

Further more, negative reports draw far more attention than do positive reports.  Again, just look at the recent threads.  A thread that says 3D in the 3DS works may get 3 replies.  A thread that says the 3D in the 3DS doesn't work will get 300 replies.  Had even a small percentage of people made reports at E3 that the 3DS was causing dizziness and headaches, it would have been all over the Internet.  Fanboys from the other camps would have made sure that world and all 7 other planets were aware fo the problems with the 3D in the 3DS.
