The lack of 2 sticks (and piracy of course) was a huge problem for some games on PSP, and for developpers to bother finding an alternative. Expect to see a diferent situation with the PSP2.


Agreed 2nubs = FPS games on the go a reality and I hope the piracy situation will be different this time around

Well, most western devs did. Games like Split/Second and Army of Two appear on the PSP because they are made by small indie devs, and not the publisher. Sports sims appear on the PSP because they are usually ported from the PS2.

Even Sony themselves seems to have abandoned the PSP. Like I said, none of the main teams are making PSP games. The only teams that make PSP games are SCE Santa Monica, and SCE Japan. Most other games, like I said, were made by indie devs.

ok so in 2010 we got KH Birth By sleep, MGS Peace Walker, Valkyria Chronicles 2, Ghost of Sparta, Y's etc and you are here claiming PSP gets no support? -_- sorry but to me it sounds like you don't know what you're talking about, which of the above are made by 'indie' devs exactly? These aren't angry bird-esque games we are talking about here.

Maybe he's talking about consumer support.(Yes I'm talking for everyone that didn't get Valkyria Chronicles 2, I saw it yesterday at 5 bucks in a bargain bin ......... I hope you're pround you sent a great game to die a horrible death in America)

You do know that 3G isn't actually that fast (well not everybody has the fastest available speeds, so developers would go with the lowest)  and would support a max of 4 players over 3G as seen on the iphone? heck most graphicaly heavy FPS on the iPhone don't even support multiplayer over 3G only over Wifi (10 players) and 3G drains the battery incredibly fast..  not to mention incredible lag when moving around in a car or bus.. even topdown race games like Reckless Racing have lag while playing over 3G..

nah pretty sure he is referring to dev support, which is why I am disagreeing

to me VC2 is a tie for GOTY for 2010 with GOW3....but I agree the presense or rather lack of it in the USA is harming psp game sales which is quite sad since it gets some real good games. I hope it changes with PSP2. But games will be there for sure, i mean even with 3DS on the horizon, psp is getting a nice chunk of games this year as well

I said western devs have abandoned the PSP. I didn't mean all devs.  Also, I mentioned SCE Santa Monica as a dev that supports the PSP.

lol I was referring to the campaign...hence why I said the 'two nubs' not the 3G...so far I have yet to see really really good FPS on a handheld thanks to having only one nub...even fighting games, other than Tekken series I haven't found a good handheld fighter. These will be benefited greatly

as for 3G, as of now from the two handhelds of next gen, one with 3G will be the most suitable for on the GO online as well yeah? might not be perfect but then again nothing is..battery life etc we will know soon and then we can talk about it

@Iamawesome: ok fair enough, as I mentioned above to another poster PSP has gotten into a bad situation thanks to piracy and hence why devs are hesitant at the moment. so yes I agree on that :) let's hope it will change with PSP2
