I LOVE Grinding

Nothing beats old school Turnbased Gringing

Ahh the good old days like the FFVI dinosaur forest

ARPG grnding beats it ;)

No. Simply because TB is the best ever. EVER

Beats everything.

Challenge. I'm the type to kill everything I see and explore every nook and cranny so I level up quite a bit anyway but I still want the challenge present even when doing so. Rarely do I enjoy grinding. I usually do it for item harvesting but it's extremely rare that I enjoy it for leveling.

How can it beat everything if it loses to ARPG's every time? You're not making any sense :P

No, it doesn't.

In action RPGs, you don't feel that patiente achievement because it's faster.

No, you just look at your gorgeous stats and cash to achieve the same feeling ;)

Grind in Star Ocean or Tales games. Grinding at its finest!

Lol, nice sig! Gurren Lagann is epic

OT: A little bit of both I think, I don't like something that is so challenging that I have to spend a lot of time to finish it but I also don't like grinding too much for the same reason. Still, grinding takes time but helps shorten the time it takes to finish the challenge. So it's: A: Challenging and no grinding
or B: little challenge with a lot of grinding
or C: a bit of both.

(A: T plus 0 = T
B: 0 plus T = T
C: 1/2 T plus 1/2 T = T)

I pick C although the time (T) is most often relatively constant.

Yes, in more than one way good sir! (in no small part thanks to Yoko)

How about ATBRPGs like Valkyria Chronicles? ATRPGs are at the top, looking down at all those puny ARPGs and TBRPGs.

Tales battle systems > all.

It really goes beyond the definition of epic. After seeing it I thought we needed a new word for it, still haven't found one worthy enough. :|

Dai-Arc-Dekosuke Epic.

W00t!

Err.... I don't grind.

I explore what there is to be explored, then face the boss.

What's the fun in going: "HEY LET'S GET TO LEVEL 40 AND KILL EVERYTHING IN SIGHT"

Mind-numbing repetition just to make a game have no challenge?

I agree with that Grinding in these and other Japanese ARPGs is really fun.

but I love grinding in FF to because if you can make the next boss easer by doing so then why not.

Japanese Pop Culture Otaku

It depends on what playthrough I'm currently playing on any RPG. If it is the first playthrough, I like to grind because I'm a completionist, and since most skills, abilities and whatnot are, most of the times, linked to character/weapon/ability levels, I will grind until I get all. Or I will grind to get those ultra rare drop (0,5%, 0,01% and so on) items or weaponry.

When i'm on my second playthrough, I like to make any RPG as challenging as I can, like Lvl.1 Critical mode challenges on KH games, low level challenges on most RPG's, etc.
