I loved the game in its entirety. Storyline was frankly absent, but the gameplay truly made up for it, and it ended up being an enjoyable badass of an rpg. I'm hoping for a sequel.

It was more than there, actually. You can meet most of the characters mentioned in the intro, and experience the ravages of the fog yourself. The atmosphere tells a better story than any script does.

im gonna disagree with that. the game doesnt tell a good story but its still awesome.

That's the point. It doesn't tell you the story at all. Just gives you an intro and leaves you to discover the story for yourself through exploring each world and speaking with NPCs. Which I honestly feel is a great way to look at role-playing.

picked the game up, played for an hour or so, died about two dozen times, decided it was time to move on.  wasn't thatI couldn't play it, I'm just not willing to dedicate my time to the game just yet. I'm sure once I finish Oblivion I'll try Demons Souls.  Once I gave up I put in Star Wars: The Force Unleashed...what a mess THAT was.

The game is about 50 hours like any rpg...

Spot on. That is one of the amazing things with Demon's Souls, how the atmosphere tells the story and engulfs you. It's just, wow!

Its a good game, and the sales are pretty good tbh, a niche game like this was never going to sell millions, but when it reachs 1 mil in a few weeks then its obvious to me this has been an incredible success.

Edit: that Maneater boss was fu***** difficult, i remember i thought i had him figured out, and then..... another one comes out of noware, that was the most difficult boss in the game imho. Old King Doran wasnt to bad when you figured him out. but some bit are awesome - like fighting the Storm King, or Old Hero. and the Valley of Defilment was very difficult also imo.

but i remember in the game one of the stones to one of the worlds was broken - the Valley of Giants, so imo after Project Dark wraps up they might do DS2 and create new worlds, etc.

Maneater was a little bitch with a 5 Blessed Mirdan Hammer :P. Allant is easily the toughest boss in the game IMO, with Doran as 2nd (though, I've thrown him off the staris with the dragon bone smasher :P )

i got this game because of the ratings it got and i have to say it should have got higher.

im not even an rpg fan (excluding monster hunter) and i thought it was amazing. the only problem i had (being a noob at rpg's) is that i tried playing it as a linear game so i got stuck at the flamelurker bit and didnt know how to kill it. looking at the speedrun videos, you have to play it in a certain order which makes the game longer than it actually is.

apart from that, its a great game but if you have no patience or cant think tactically, dont bother you will keep getting owned. no such thing as 'rushing' in this game....unless your playing the 10th time around.

Let's all skip the crappy FFXIII & FFXIII-2 and buy Demon's Souls instead. Let this gem shine and more games like it be made.

The auto-save doesn't save every time, people. You need to press start to auto-save. To not save, simply quit to the XMB(by pressing the PS button). However it does automatically save if you go to some other level or nexus or kill a boss or something.

I don't think that's really true... every time you see a lil' blue sphere in the left/right corner, it's saving... and it occurs while you kill regular enemies, heal, etc.

It definitely doesn't save when I heal, because I've tried this trick to see if it works and it did. But it might save when I kill someone.

I am 100% sure it saves every time you pause it though.
