If the game does well in JP I'm sure they will bring it over. They would be stupid not to with the demand for the game

I think the problem is getting those 12,000 (can't remember actual figures) lines voice acted. Personally if I don't hear anything announced within one year, I will be greatly disappointed. I am not the type to jump the gun like everyone else here (some do it because they just don't like Nintendo in general), not after Yakuza 3 and 4 games made it over.

yeah I would be shocked if they don't mention anything at least by E3

Correction, Nintendo Europe wants everyone to hate them, which is convenient because i already hate them for not announcing a 3DS RRP.

“When we make some new announcement and if there is no positive initial reaction from the market, I try to think of it as a good sign because that can be interpreted as people reacting to something groundbreaking. ...if the employees were always minding themselves to do whatever the market is requiring at any moment, and if they were always focusing on something we can sell right now for the short term, it would be very limiting. We are trying to think outside the box.” - Satoru Iwata - This is why corporate multinationals will never truly understand, or risk doing, what Nintendo does.

Kirbys Epic Yarn takes precidence of TLS. Lol that's the funniest shit i've heard all day.

Are you seriously saying it doesn't?

Honestly. No I don't think it does. The Wiis JRPG collection is lacking and TLS is a very high profile title. It should take more of a priority. Nintendos excuse is lacking and just shows lazyness.

This is assuming that Nintendo would likely release TLS a few months after its Japanese release in any case. More strictly Japanese games tend to take longer to come over anyway, even stuff like Sin and Punishment 2 which was fairly simple

That's what makes me think that they're just talking about "No TLS for EU now" and not saying "No TLS for EU ever" which this guy certainly wouldn't be in a definitive position to state

Monster Hunter: pissing me off since 2010.

The saddest thing for me now is that my Wii is a dust collector. I don't use it for anything. I plead and beg for a reason to use it and they hit me in the chops. This also probably means that Xenoblade isn't coming.

Thanks Nintendo, your continuing to do the same thing you've done for me all generation and that's disappoint.

Since you live in the US, I don't get why you have a problem with this. Kirby was already released in NA, but not in EU. This guy's problem is that they'd have to localize in multiple languages...NoA only has to do one.

"Nintendo has explained its decision to only release promising Wii Japanese role-playing game The Last Story in Japan. "

A big reason such big titles don't get translated are (that's only my opinion, though...) that they probably won't sell enough to turn a high enough profit. The game is quite expensive in Japan, so if they price it high in the US or Europe people complain about the high price. In Japan The Last Story's price is 6800 Yen, which translates to 82$ in the US. But many (not all!) US customers already complain when Wii games cost 60$. You just can't expect to get all the good stuff if you're not willing to pay good prices for it. (Sorry if that feels like a rant... it isn't.)

Translating a game with that much text into English and other languages (at least German, French, Spanish and Italian for Europe) costs a huge amount of money and it seems like Nintendo think that it isn't worth the hassle (yet).

Having said all that I still think Nintendo MUST translate that game and publish it in Europe and America. It's a tragedy if they don't. They made so much money this generation it would be nice to give the customers something back.
