Doesn't the 3D play a huge role in how the games look though? Isn't judging from the screenshots kind of like judging a 360 or PS3 game's graphics when playing it in SD. Am I wrong on this one? o_o

I think you are wrong...3D will not make a game graphics better...But hey I could be wrong =p..

After doing some research, it turns out that 3DS game can look better if the devs decide to not use 3D. They can use the extra resources for more texture passes and more complex geometry. I still think the 3D effect is very key for some games and they shouldn't really be judged solely on screenshots though. 3DS games just seem like you need to actually be holding the system before making a real judgement.

Why should I hold them in my hands while the 3D effect will not bring better graphics?

Well this thread topic is sort of useless isn't it? Which games?

“When we make some new announcement and if there is no positive initial reaction from the market, I try to think of it as a good sign because that can be interpreted as people reacting to something groundbreaking. ...if the employees were always minding themselves to do whatever the market is requiring at any moment, and if they were always focusing on something we can sell right now for the short term, it would be very limiting. We are trying to think outside the box.” - Satoru Iwata - This is why corporate multinationals will never truly understand, or risk doing, what Nintendo does.

I demand screens!

The responses from people who have actually played these games has been largely positive, so I'm going to side with them for now. Small details like health bar and UIs being at different depths, a game's heights actually having depth, being able to dodge lasers in 3D space, and such are things that need to be seen in person right? I'm dying to get my hands on the system to see just how much the 3D changes things. I'm not saying you're wrong however I am saying people are being a bit rash.

I think the 3DS is destined for huge success. For me, the 3DS doesn't attract me. $250 is too much for a handheld, and there isn't much difference from the DS/PSP from the 3DS, and i just dont think the investment is worth it. Though the system has many great games announced, and will probably have a better library than the DS (if that is possible), but i'll probably be a late adopter, i'll pick it up when there is a redesign, and the price drops from $100-150. I'm not desperate, only the loyal nintendo fans, and the people desperate to buy the newest thing will buy this at launch. 3D is a gimmick, and i think the system can stand on its own, even without the shitty 3D, get that out of my gaming please.

Research helps with thread clarity, plzkthx

Monster Hunter: pissing me off since 2010.

3d used lots of resources, but i believe the effects are worth it.

don't expect hd graphics on a handheld guys...

Typical Weezy OP:  "I'm so hood.  Discuss." Then he logs off.

And these threads always get tons of responses!  It's like he knows exactly what four or five words will incite us into a frenzy!  Then, he just sits back and enjoys the handiwork.
