Forums - Nintendo - So, who's gonna wait for a 3DS Lite?

Why do people say that the Lite version will be cheaper? It'll probably be the price that the 3DS is now, but a better version (and the regular 3DS would have dropped its price).

can't justify 249 price (most likely 269 or 300 Canadian)

Well switch Lite for i, and I live in the US, I otherwise agree.

A flashy-first game is awesome when it comes out. A great-first game is awesome forever.

Plus, just for the hell of it: Kelly Brook at the 2008 BAFTAs

Seems like the overall design is about as refined as its going to get considering they're moving forward with all of the DSs improvements.

I'm not going to be able to wait the three years for larger screens.

well the best thing we can hope for is for it to get bigger not smaller like DSXL. It already i smaller then the DSi by about 5mms.

I am hoping revision 2 has a second analogue stick on the right side below the buttons. I made that suggestion to Nintendo before they announced 3DS but looks like they didn't care too much.

In any case I still will get this model. Can always trade in for newer one.

I haven't yet decided if I'll wait for a 3DS revision or not.

There are only two games officially announced that I really want to play.

And with the immense backlog of games for all current systems the waiting would not be to hard to bear for me.

I know. I want Paper Mario and Kingdom Hearts, but there isn't much else that interests me right now.

I already preordered it.  I can't wait.  I just wish Kid Icarus was launching with it.  I don't want lame old Ocarina of Time.  I'm tired of that game.

Well, you see, I got lucky..... I haven't made the mistake of buying a DS model that is doomed to be replaced by a superior DS model.

I waited on the original DS, then the DS Lite came ot and I waited some more.....

Then the DSi came out, and I figured there would be an even BETTER model on the way, and I was right!

The DSi XL came out, and I waited when that one was released too....

Now the 3DS is out, I am going to wait for the redesign on that one too.....

I am smart for waiting.

I describe myself as a little dose of toxic masculinity.

If anyone was going to wait for an update, I would think it would be for one with a larger 3D panel, that will presumably be priced the same or slightly more than the original model today.

It should be a given that there will be a hardware refresh within the first two years of the product cycle. The only question is whether you want to play the games now or not.

Frankly, I don't see much point in planning out video game purchases two years in advance; if you want one bad enough to do this, scrape together the means if you have to, or just buy one now if the purchase isn't a big deal.

Personally, the only reason I order now is on the chance that they become as difficult to find at retail as the DS lite was back when I was trying to buy a couple of them.

In a worst case scenario and one or both of them are still in the box after debut (since I don't plan on buying any old games on release just to play with my new toy) and I'm still waiting on those MGS and RE games to be released, I can just sell them to someone who wants them now.
