Ohhh man...
So, the ending for the Curious Village was kinda sad...but not *too* tear jerking or anything. The fact that Flora's father did so much for her, and that he was gone. You were kinda thinking he would appear out of somewhere in the ending, but no dice. Yea, that was pretty sad.
Diabolical Box kinda filled my eyes a decent bit, but I manned up. In such a flash, to realise that everything you thought was real is not, you've age like 50 years, the love of your life has passed on and you read the letter of her last words to you. It's the sought of thing that really touches me, the passage of time and its effect with love.
Well, it all came crumbling down with the Unwound Future. No more playing man here. This is one of the saddest things I've seen in my gaming life. I couldn't help but immediately plug my wife and I into the equation, it's just something i do subconsciously whenever I see a said scene like that, whether it be game or movie. To see the Professor break down like that pretty much for the first time in the series. "We had so many plans for the future. Do you remember, Hershel? I'll miss you... and our unwound future. "...oh dear *wells up* And when the Professor took off his hat and looked to the sky...that sealed the deal for me. Buckets man, buckets. It was a pretty sad touch with Luke by the harbour as well. "but I'm not a gentleman as yet", in tears. This ending totally caught me out of left field.
I'll admit that I was kinda getting fedup of the game itself, starting to think that maybe I've had enough of the franchise. But they somehow manage to do such a good job a creating a connection with the characters. After the ending, I definitely want to play the Spectre's Flute.
Don't make fun...it won't be very becoming of a gentleman.
