Forums - Nintendo - Why is Nintendo treating Europe like that?

at £229.99 in the UK thats a tough price to swallow, you could take home a PS3 for that.

And no really not bothered about getting it two days earlier because if they expect us to pay 30% more i wont be getting it within months of release if not years.

But we get it 2 days early, that is something to be happy about isn't it?

No, people wanted price. And if they revealed the price it was the lacking of Region-Lock info to complain about. Or the Battery. No matter what Nintendo does or why it does it, people won't be satisfied. THey said the didn't give information about line ups or price because it changes across countries, and Europe is many countries...but still, it's Nintendo's fault to not have unified Europe.

Because clearly giving a RRP in euros and pound are a difficult thing to do. Instead of just giving the damn numbers, Nintendo decided not to. Most of Europe uses the euro anyway, so why not just say what it will cost?

Whether you think complaints about stuff like that is down to fanboy mentality is up to you, but I complain about it because I think it's annoying, simple as that.

It's annoying sure, but instead of praising Nintendo fow having an awesome online, a beautiful line up even for third parties, a powerful hardware and some great features, about everyone is complaining about the lack of a price (which as you say will be revealed later), about region lock (which as of now is just a rumor, there was a contradictory statement) or about battery (why everyone knows the the 3-5 hours was indicative). I find this annoying, but I understand why you're expeting the price to be revealed here.

CURRENTLY PLAYING: Xenoblade (Wii), Super mario 3D land (3DS), Guild Wars (PC)

Are you serious?

Most Nintendo consumers in Europe, the big majority, is paying with euro or pounds. Just give the price with this two currency and everybody is happy.

It's not the same, the taxies change from country to country. Sure, they could give the price for UK, Germany, France, Spain and Italy. Or they could just say "wait for further data on our site".

True, there will always be haters. And Nintendo has done a great job with the 3DS, but I hate to comment on things like that until I can actually try them out for myself. I'm a little worried about the online for example, but until we know more, I'll settle for a universal friend code.

I paid £229 ($366) for mine, it's expensive, but if I play and enjoy my 3DS anywhere nearly as much as I have done with any of my 4 DS', it's totally worth the money.

Wow I think i am now unable to get the 3ds for a while i was expecting about 170 pounds.

I would be shocked if retail competition didn't lead to it being under £200, or at the very least have a free game thrown in

The UK price does actually seem awful (though not quite Apple bad), though cheaper than the PSP go was a few years ago

In Amazon UK it is presently 219.95 .
