This information comes from Nintendo Iberica's (Spain Portugal) press conference...

- Nintendo sold 1.3 million hardware units (55.7% market share) and 6.39 millions software units (44.7% market share) between Wii and DS
- Nintendo DS is the best selling console in Spanish history with 5.3 million units sold for a 67.9% market share
- Nintendo DS and portable market's best selling game: Art Academy
- Wii has reached 2.7 million units sold and accounts for 49.2% market share
- Nintendo figures went 6% down in 2010

- Console market share: Nintendo has 55,1% out of 2,3 million (all current gen hardware)
- Games for Nintendo platforms account for 44,7% out of 14,3 million (all current gen retail software)
- Spanish VG market has grown 6% over the last year

These results along with the ones that we got from France show how small of a market continental Europe is (since continental Europe is basically France, Germany, Italy, Spain and some tiny countries ) , compared to North America and how important the U.K market is and makes the "xbox360 is outselling the ps3 ONLY in NA and U.K" memo seem extremely stupid .



Man Nintendo is doing amazing. I'm really suprised at how PS3 is cleaning Microsoft's clock. In the end as others pointed out I would have thought Spain would have a bigger market then that. Only what 2.7 million Wii's sold and that is half the market. Seriously I bet Canada's market is larger and we have fewer people.

44,7% for Wii and DS in 2010. I talk about homeconsoles.
