True haha! I think BF2 had to be one of the best PC shooters I've played, it was just up there with the jets, choppers and everything. Unless BF3 comes to consoles I'll probably have to go ahead and purchase a gaming rig that can actually run it. I could never fly jets on BF2, my pc was abysmal >_>

it is  coming to consoles, main platform is still PC though. And people hated me in BF1942 and BF2. I'm one of the few who can barrel roll or do flips with choppers. I can also snipe pilots out of their planes and choppers in those games, boy did people think I was hacking when I did that.

That's good to hear, a PC port shouldn't be too badly affected on X360, but I don't think it makes a difference either way on either consoles. And lol whenever I attempted that, my computer lagged and I either crashed into a tree/mountain or a friendly helicopter, and sniping pilots is relatively easy, if you're talking about those fat heavy passenger carriers, but yeah everything about BF2 screams quality, if BF3 is at least 3/4 of that quality, that game will easily be one of my favourite FPS games on the consoles.

Out of the 5 games mentioned, duke nukem seems to be the worst one or the least intresting one. Never been a fan of the duke, plus i dont like Gearbox all that much.

Brink looks the most intresting, it has a nice art style, and some pretty cool multiplayer features.

ssj12: I loved Battlefield 2 and played hundreds of hours online and on LAN but I somehow didn't enjoy Bad Company 2's multiplayer at all, could be that I only tried the console version but I honestly think I've grown tired of the whole concept.

I found the BFBC2 on X360 lacking compared to BF2, and that came out quite a long time ago. I just felt that the controls were a bit clumsy and the gameplay was really slow/awkward. I think they can improve upon it even further. Addition of planes and more than 1/2 f'ing helicopters per map might be nice. Also more players per map, but I am not sure whether consoles will be able to take up to 64 player maps like on BF2.

for those wondering why BRINK isn't just another generic war shooter

There is now way I can buy this until octoberish.  Looks promising though. A friend of mine played it at PAX(...i think...he's been to quite a few conferences) and said it was great.

Basically if the Dev deliver on their promises BRINK should be Mirrors Edge meats Team Fortress 2 with 16 player multiplayer team death matches (a bit low but whatever), 8 player co-op missions etc. That or it could be a cluster fk of good ideas and crappy execution/lack of content who knows.

Oh it also apparently the singleplayer (with co-op play) is story driven and utilises techniques like performance capture etc. http://www.eurogamer.net/articles/splash-damage-paul-wedgwood-interview

"Eurogamer: How much of a single-player campaign is there for me to explore, what sort of emphasis is there on story? Or is the solo mode more of a training ground for multiplayer?

Paul Wedgwood: No no no: it's massive! Wolfenstein: Enemy Territory was pure multiplayer and Enemy Territory: Quake Wars was a multiplayer game that had offline bots but apart from that was exactly the same game. This is a game that has been built from the outset as a heavily narrative-driven story by full-time writers. We're making use of techniques like performance capturing - so we get really good physical performances from actors along with their facial expressions and voices and their interaction with other actors - to build a game that has a really strong narrative component that isn't just a highly replayable shooter. So that's a big part for us.

Your experience through it, imagining you have no internet connection should, for us to have achieved our goal, be as compelling as any other triple-A shooter."

brink has been in my top 10 ever since I saw a free running video over a year ago... but the wait is long ^^

OoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoO

Yes, definitely yes. Oh, the answer to the title.

Anyway, I'm looking forward to this game. I loved both Enemy Territory games and I'm sure this'll be good too. Whether it's great or not, that I don't know yet. But definitely better than most shooters out there.

should have released in 2012.

Being in 3rd place never felt so good
