Maybe some of the major studios drop that kind of money when they are developing something big. But I'm sure that's not the average.

Well that Info came from THQ boss of developing core games 

And remember its an AVERAGE. GTA4 is estimated to have cost around 100 million, games like killzone 2 50 million. Its not cheap to produce games, its not like 20 years ago were ID made DOOM for 300,000. We are talking about 50-75 teams of people that want to be payed well for there effort over an 2-3 year period.

Did you consider the budgets of those titles include advertising? Both GTA4 and Killzone 2 had huge advertising campaigns. Games like Halo and Call of Duty have bigger advertising budgets than development budgets of the games. With that said, I imagine there are a lot of other titles that spend more on advertising than the game itself.

I believe they said Gears of War had a $10 million budget. Uncharted 2 had around $20 million. I would expect a crap game like Mindjack which is from a small Japanese studio and has no advertising is gonna have a budget far below those titles.

Ultimately, we're just trying to tell you these smaller releases don't have the same budgets as major titles from bigger studios.

common guys you are going far to cheap 

you know other than advertising which total depends on the budget 

the biggest costing is Wagers. 

unless you are paying crappy wagers it costs big now let say for mindjack they spent 2 years on the game 

okay and we say roughly 50,000 dollars per employee (now some will be paid higher or lower) and an team of 50 

that 5 million dollars gone into wages on 

Really guys Game develop isn't that cheap. If it was we would have 4x as many games coming out. If it was that cheap then why is so many developers going bust when to make profit they would only need to sell min of 100,000 copies. 

Its not cheap to make games. and @Zlejedi it would of costed them more than million euros of fees to get the game on the PS3 alone so unless they are paying there employees to work for nothing,even an low budget game thats boxed would cost more than that.
