I can tell you're a Wii fanboy from your username. I have one and have had NO problems with it whatsoever. The Wii's controller is all a gimmic. At least the PS3 can be labeled as an impressive piece of hardware.

The hardware is impressive, but I can't see how they can award best console of the year to a system with such an anemic library. And even if the wii is gimmicky its library is better at this time. Games make consoles, not hardware

QFT! Resistance is the only game worth getting for the PS3. Twilight Princess is the only game worth getting for the Wii. We'll just have to be patient.

Reminds me of 12 years ago when EGM said Sega Genesis was the best console over the SNES and the Sega Game Gear was the best handheld over the Gameboy. One year later, they reversed their decision on both.

The 360 is the console of the year period. It has a better library and more AAA titles. The PS3 has Resistance and nothing else. Sure, but the number of titles is due to when the consoles were released. We won't really be able to compare the 360, Wii, and PS3 for a few months when the newer consoles have more titles available. Right now the comparison seems to be limited to Gear of War vs. Resistance. The Wii is so much different than the other two, lesser power but more intuitive design (much like the DS vs PSP) that the comparisons are going to fall further into the "fun" factor rather than just graphical eye candy.

Thats true Chris but the bottom line is the 360 has the best titles right now. A console is useless without games. The best console is the one with the best games. The X-box and Gamecube were better consoles than the PS2 from a technical standpoint. That said, the PS2 was the best console because it had the best variety of games.
