my prediction on the PSP2 will focus on the games that will be released for it.

Not only will you have you normal about of Japanese PSP2 games coming out in Japan which are just for the PSP2, but also have some PSP2 only games from 1st party and some 3rd. That there is all is basically common sense on what going to happen But!

You will hear that future releases like the new Mortal Kombat and other 1st and 3rd party titles like Uncharted 3 and sport titles like Madden and Fifa will not get an PSP counterpart but instead the PS3 version of the game ported onto the PSP2 and the only difference would be lower graphical settings (like on PC how you have Low, medium and high and inbetween) but it will play exactly the same and will offer the following features:

1. Ability to wireless sync game data from PS3 game version to the PSP2 version and continue from your last save on any device, going with the whole play at home and then play on the go. 

2. Cross platform chat and messaging with full PSN network support 

3. Cross platform Online play: Since the games are exactly the same you will be able to play

But other than new titles offering this they will release the best titles from this gen as well such as Metal gear solid 4, Uncharted 1/2, god of war 3 extra. 

This style of portable gaming will be very popular among PS3 owners and offer people who dont have the space (japan) or cant afford the whole TV set up (developing markets) to get the full HD experience of the PS3 from your hand and get all the features. It will entice 360 owners to buy instead of an ps3 to try out the exclusives. 

Due to being basically an portable PS3, as long as there are ps3 games being released there will be PSP2 releases. 

Also the PSP2 will launch November 1 2011 and the first title will be Uncharted 3. 

How do you fit R2, R3, L2 and L3 onto a portable device?

I also don't think games like Uncharted will work as well on a 5" screen, and games like Fallout really require long and deep gameplay sessions, not suited to being played on the move

I think there is some potential for this, but there are so many issues in making it happen, such as how does it know that I own the game on PS3 or am I going to have to buy the same game twice?

It is rumored that the psp2 has a touchpad on the back, so you can place imaginary buttons there.

But well, I also think there are a lot of games that do not fit on the portable device, but there are also a lot of games that would :) I would love to play VANQUISH on the go, or god of war from the consoles.

And I also would like to know how they would do it with the games on ps3/psp2, maybe you can buy a portable version for 15.- if you have the original on the ps3, I would definately buy it!

Definately a great idea, but I think they will stick to seperate devices, BUT I WOULD LOVE to have a portable ps3 !!

instead of porting it, how about just allowing to stream the games from your PS3 to the PSP2 over the net. full remote playability

 I have been wondering if Sony are positioning this thing - technology wise - to be open to 'easy' PS3 ports. I mean if it doesn't cost the developer much then that's alot of extra software, albeit I'm totally sure about it. I'm not sure I want the software to end up being too console-centric and there's a risk that would happen, and it's hardly a good sign if the launch game is a PS3 port.

 While games like Mortal Kombat and LittleBigPlanet 2 totally suit a portable version I see little point in not playing God of War on my 37'' TV setup. 

 I'm really hoping we see a greater push at digital stuff, and that well, the games on PSNare priced more er... comeptitively (Angry Birds I'm looking at you) .

On points 1, 2, 3. The PS3 is completely hacked therefore Sony has to be careful about how the PSP2 connects to the PS3 since hackers recently tore the PSP security another new one and stole the codes using the PSP to PS3 connection. Since the PS3 is now an open device effectively, it has to treat the connection between the PSP2 and PS3 as if it were a PC.

we don't have proper internet connection at homes and you expect a portable to have something like it

over that the cost of bandwidth will be overwhelming

anyway, do you expect sony to port every PS3 game to the PSP2 if they can have a single solution that works for any PS3 game?
