You guys shouldn't worry about this too much, Achievements have been getting raped for a while. With achievements they reset your GamerScore to 0 and block you from getting any achievements you already had. They will also label you a "cheater" so the entire world can see.

This only happens if people get "Online" achievements with no date stamp (when offline), or if the achievements are screwed up (you unlock the last achievement before the first one, things like that). People can still do it if they're smart about it.

Sony can implement something similar, and that's probably what they're working on now.

I'm more worried about the online cheating, because I don't really know how Sony handles that. Xbox Live is set-up better for this, and people still get away with it. Someone can be a famous hacker with vids all over youtube and they still don't get banned.

I agree, they're there for genuine competition for people, the whole purpose is to actually put the effort in.

I doubt it. As long as they make multiplats for the 360, they will make games for the ps3. Also, sony games.

Hacking trophies on PS3 and altering one's own Xbox 360 acheivements is pointless. Don't people like a challenge anymore? I mean, you pay enough for a console and video games alone!

I hope these aren't able to sync. Or atleast SONY can stomp these guys out. It's a slap to the face for those that put the 300 hours of effort into Disgaea3. Learnt from harsh failures in Demon's Souls. Earned that 1% weekly rank in KZ2. I pushed through KZ2's elite mode. Killed 52K zombies in Prototype and platinum'd it's ridiculous events. The one man armiess in Socom:C and MAG. Went through Hell in GoW3. I could go on. 

This. It's a sense of achievement. What is the point in cheating? To brag that your cool enough to hack trophies?

SONY is looking into fixing this issue, so relax.
