Hey guys,

So this year, I've been responsible for like.. litterarly 8 of my friends buying a PS3 (Hence why I finally sold my 360 that I barely used..). They all bought Killzone 2, Uncharted 2 & 1, MGS4, GoW3, LBP and all of my favourite games. Now, They've been going on for a while talking like: Yeah.. black ops would be fun :)... And well, I just thought: Meh, they bought a fucking system because of my talk, I can atleast let them experience a CoD on it. Seeming as I own CoD4 and MW2, I know how those games are and well, they are fun to play with friends. Killzone 2 is... far more HARD for them and they know it but they still like it. They would buy Black ops instantly if I did, and so I'm right now considering to call them up and drag them to the store with me, I just have a few questions:

1. How does it hold up in comparison to MW2 and CoD4? I kinda' disliked MW2 even though I did reach lvl 50 or whatever it was. (I never prestige). CoD4 was a masterpiece in my opinion. What I disliked mainly on MW2 was the god damn kill streaks, it just got annoying after a while EVEN WHEN YOU YOURSELF GET IT (hence why I only had killstreak 3-4 and 5).

2. HOW DOES IT WORK ON THE PS3? I remember reading a while back that it had some problems.. I cant really remember what it was, was it lag? was it ..fps drop? WHAT WAS IT?

Nr 2 is honestly my main priority. I could probably lurke around on the webb but I'm asking you guys here on VGC <3. Please help me! Is Black Ops a good and friendly game to play with friends on the PS3?

No. You guys should get Killzone 3 instead. I am sure killzone 3 is not as hard as killzone 2....although I hope its harder.

But right now, if you want to get one, then black ops is a bad idea, people have complained about it endlessly. In gameplay I think its as good as COD 5 or better than COD 6, I don't have the game though.

You should probably get BFBC 2 if you don't have it already, or red dead redemption or Dead Space 2 or ....

We played MW2 the other day at my house and we had fun.

We will all be getting Killzone 3 prior to Day 1, Its my most anticipated game on 2011 behind Uncharted 3. But there's still a month and a week left. I have the Killzone 3 beta (even though its over now, I still play on botzone sometimes XD) So i know how it'll be and I'm sure we all will love it even more. I recently finished some of my harder tests and have kinda' not so much going on for the coming month in school and gaming (as I collected all my wanted cars in GT5 XD, sure I'll race in A-Spec but I want to do some killing too >:D).

What scares me is that if we buy it, it'll be unplayable on the PS3 for whatever reason. I just want someone that has it to let me know if it's a mess online on the PS3.

As for Bad company, I have nothing against it, its a good game but I don't really want it.

(Also a 2-3 days after KZ3s release I have an entire week off school for break and the next week I'll be working in a shop to learn how ..working is (ya know, not sure what you call it in english) so I will have about 14 days of non-stop Killzone 3 so don't worry. Once its out, Blackops is history for me but I just want something RIGHT NOW for a month forward without buying something that doesnt work good.

It works fine on PS3, and it is just like the same old CoD

As for killstreaks, you killstreak kills no longer count towards getting another one, so there are fewer issues there

Alright seeming as I have the money to buy Uncharted 3, Killzone 3, LittleBigPlanet 2, Twisted Metal, The Last Guardian, InFAMOUS 2, Resistance 3, Motorstorm: Apocalypse and ICO & SOTC Collection on day one, I'll go get Black ops now.

Opinions will be divided on this.

Call of Duty 4 took simplicity to a new level, and this led to the fact that it was pretty much console FPS perfection.

Black Ops throws a lot of unnecessary content into the mix. It's not streamlined. It's pretty much full to bursting. And while there's no hacking, you know those irritating campers/grenade spammers/noobtubers from CoD4? Yeah, pretty much every match you'll play is full of them. And as a final nail in the coffin, if you're playing against anyone above level 30 and you've just started, you will lose.

Many, many people enjoy it. Millions of people. Personally, I detest it.

Detesting it with friends could be awesome :D, I just want to enjoy myself for the time being until KZ3 so I'll go for it. Thanks mate!

Nah, I'm sure you'll enjoy it. I just tend to be very picky on the subject of online games.

I hated MW2 for it's stupid overpowered killstreaks, imbalanced gameplay and just retarded multiplayer in general. I still clocked many hours but that's beside the point. Having played Black Ops around friends house via the online split screen(Which is awesome btw!) we had some great time and the game is now much more balanced than MW2, in Blops there were barely any overpowered killstreaks used as this time you actually have to use some skill when it comes to attaining them, instead of getting to 5, missiling 2 people, calling in a harrier and camping till AC. The high kill streaks were pretty uncommon, having only seen dogs about 2-3 times in around 6 hours of gameplay, I was satisfied that the gameplay is finally balanced. What I found disappointing though is the amount of recycled guns, some from COD4 and others from previous FPS games, I was honestly expecting some new prototypes I've never seen before.

BO has no issues on PS3 I'm aware of now is it notably different from 360 version if that's a concern (I have both versions and the only difference is a minimal resolution difference favouring 360 that I doubt you'd even notice).

Plays well and sits between CoD4 and MW2 for me.  Better than MW2 both SP / MP but not quite as good as CoD4.

If you want to play it with your buddies you'll have plenty of fun.
