NO. Thats why the original costume looks fantastic when it gets torn. Look at the artwork in the comics. It looks awesome when it gets torn when he is in a highe tense fight against someone. That visual keeps you reading to see what happens next. This indestructable thig just ruins it for me. Like you said, Hes a teenager. How in the hell does he get the money for a suit like that?

If you read the comics you should know he starts off doing stuff for TV/wrestling, but this seems to be more Ultimate Spider-Man. He'll probably blow his savings or sell his computer or something for his first suit until he gets his job at the Bugle. Plain and simple you can't actually fight crime in spandex in real life because you would practically need a suit a day. It's not like leather is an invincible material however for a poor student it makes sense that he'd want something durable instead of cheap in the long run.

You threw me completely off topic. I was really never really arguing over the material of the suit. I was mad about the design of the suite. No red belt line, gloves look wierd. Stuff like that.

@SuperAnthony64: Yeah, I've always been a fan of the Scarlet Spider too. Web Cartridges are the shit and always will be. I think the suit looks fine so far and we've yet to see him with the mask on which is the true test.

@thismeintiel: Garfield is actually a pretty talented actor, I saw him in Red Riding and a bit of Dr. Parnassus (meh movie), and I think he can do well as Peter Parker. He actually looks like the Peter Parker from the new Brian Michael Bendis comics where he lives with Gwen Stacey, Johnny Storm, and Bobby Drake. I think everyone is taking the Spider-Man reboot way too hard. Did people hate on Casino Royale this much too?

If people like the originals they tend to hate the reboot. Sometimes they hate prematurely as seen here. I mean it's one pic, give the guy a chance. If people really want to get mad they should be upset with Tobey "I don't want this role to define me" Maguire.

It will be a huge success there's no doubt about it.

It may not receive the same kind of praise as Raimi's Spider-Mans, though.

Not so much hating for no reason.  Didn't hate on the original before it was released, even with the plethora of horrible comic book movies before it.  Didn't really hate on this one either when it was announced as a reboot.  Though, in my personal opinion, they should have just remade 3.  But after this pic, I can just tell how this is going to go.  The fact is, the closer you get to the source material, the better it will be.  The farther you stray from it, the more ridiculous it will be.  Plus, that costume just looks awful.

Now that's Spider-Man.

To me, this looks more like a kid who made a cosplay costume of Spidey, but made changes cause he thought it would look a little more "extreme" and "cool."
