sad thing is people will ignore WW numbers, when everyone expected it to best in EMEAA region, but will come here and bash the game itself with random comparisons etc. just to satisfy their console warrior mentality. Hey I get that we have our fave consoles. I love my ps3/psp but come on. Double standards are annoying. and this is GT, it will keep selling for years (refer to GT history)...being at 5 mil mark already in a month or so WW, the game is off to a great start. and the bundling hasn't kicked in either.

Yes, they are. Why did you compare GT5 to Lost in Shadow? Y U h8 Wii?

ugh never did sigh man I'm getting tired explaining this, never compared the two games. those two are not comparable but I'm not gonna explain this again, did it twice already, please go check the response, it should be in the last few pages, if you like.

LOL. He's messing with you.

So how did it do in comparisson to vgcharts? over or under?

Depends on how much it sold in bundles and how well it did in Canada and Latin America. If it performed as well as or better than God of War 3 in those regions than we're probably spot on or possibly marginally undertracking it.

I hate to ask this stupid question.... but how much did GOW3 sold in LA and Canada??

No specific number but first shipment to Canada was 225k. Conservatively, first month was probably greater than 100k. For a bit of perspective, Halo 3's first month was 190k.

GT5 is doing very very well in EMEAA. Many people seem to think that NPD = World sales.

No one thinks that. GT5 sales probably need a n adjustment right about now. It wasn't even in the Top 10 for Dec on the NPD charts. That's not good. I'm sure it was in EMEA's Top 10 though. It sold over 3 million copies in EMEA region. More then 60% of the game's sales. That % will probably increase throughout this year. GT5 was a good game, but nothing spectacular. The car physics was it's only saving grace. The premium cars look brilliant, but everything else was pretty average or only half completed. The game still seemed unfinished, which is why most reviewers were disappointed.

Wow.. even Kinect Sports outsold GT5 for the month. Yikes.

Seems like copy-paste from many reviews to me.

Cut and Paste from one of the inaccurate reviews that doesn't even know how to review a simulator then.   Not that I'm a big fan of them - I have GT5 but prefer stuff like Burnout Paradise - but I also know how to evaluate them, as do the majority of sites evaluating GT5 as a simulator who rated it pretty highly for something limited to a console vs PC based simulators.

Yes, that's exactly what I meant.

Yeah, just wanted to spell it out.  I don't know why but the mass of inaccurate and frankly unfair slurring posts around GT5 has just annoyed me recently (not yours of course I just wanted to expand on what you implied).

Being a simulator is a very specific thing - not an opinion - and GT5 is the best simulator of driving on a console currently around if that's your thing.

Try to be reasonable... its easier than you think...

Umm. You are wrong. Read the threads on various sites that post the NPD sales. Especially Kotaku.

I'm wrong about what? I'm going by the chart that was posted in this thread. Are you saying the chart in this thread is wrong?

No about the fact that people don't think NPD = World.

Youwould be suprised. Read Kotaku or N4G. Seriously their are morons out there and a lot of them.

I've been trying to resist my inner Grammar Nazi, but I may as well say it: I've noticed you tend to confuse "there" with "their".

Yeah I do that a lot. I have gotten better at it though.

Well, I haven't met them. Most gamers I speak to know the NPD is US Sales only. It says it in pretty much every report that's posted. I think the problem is there's no ligitimate European or Asia organizations that tracks ALL the countries in those regions. If there's is VGChartz should be posting it each month. Even NPD isn't accurate. Their numbers are lower then the actual sales because they don't track every retailer. You can probably tack on another 1-3% in sales to the figures they provide.

VG numbers are 718,784  for Americas.

560 for the US and 160 for the rest , sounds very accurate , well done

So , why do people seem so surprised ?!!

EDIT: Unless if I'm messing things up.

EDIT2: Nope I'm not, it's actually 700,000 - 750,000 in Americas.

They had GT5 at 694k for US in December and 1.106m in total in US.

So we now know it did 400k in November NPD and 560k in December NPD which means lifetime sales for GT5 in US are 950k.

Which means VGC in comparison to NPD have it 150k over-tracked in US. Or just under 10%.

Of course that isn't that much. And US isn't GT5's main region. EMEAA is. But if it is over-tracked in a far easier region to track like US then it does make you wonder how acurate the numbers in hard to track places like EMEAA are.

Uncharted 2 has sold 3.7m in USA ?
