ok so sony sold 1.9 million in one area in a month last year? If so that is fine. But you realise Sony was also known to have shortages around the same time yes?

Well you can live in that fantasy land but the rest of us in america that walk into our local store and see the 360 section desimated understand that MS pushed as many consoles out as they could and simply ran out. The reality is that without the shortages 360 was selling on a 1:1 ratio with the Wii in America. As supply increase over the next couple of months look for 360 sales to steadily climb while the other consoles steadily fall during this normal slow season.

Yeh I know but once things level off in Japan its still going to give the PS3 a 25K - 35K advantage on the X360 and not to mention the PS3's always gonna have the advantage in EMEAA, 35K this week. AND then there's the big exclusives coming up within the next couple months.
The PS3 could be pulling some big numbers during this time of shortages for the X360.
Sony resisted to MS and Ninty without cutting price in 2010, now it can choose when cutting it, if needed.
It could have got some more from GT5 in America and Japan and from Move worldwide, but the situation isn't bad by any means. Easter, Golden Week, Summer, Autumn, BF and Xmas, the choice to start boosting again PS3, Move and GT5, with bundles, price cuts, special editions or whatever else is quite wide, although it's still unknown if and when PS3 could receive another restyling, maybe, if it will ever happen, it's still a little too early this year, and what's for sure, a case even smaller would require a shrink of both CPU and GPU to avoid thermal problems. BTW, with BDDs becoming commodities, faster, yet cheaper units could eventually start being fitted in future PS3s, improving their comfort of use.

We love double standards...haha

Most other people have answered! You don't actually think a 30k PS360 gap in Americas is normal do you 0_o ... wait don't answer that. |
A difference of 30 K is relative to the numbers. What we need to look at is the percentage of difference between the 2 console, now and before those "shortage". I didnt do the calcul myself so I cant say. But 30K difference out of 100K is a somewhat big difference.

360 Bundles are sold out pretty much everywhere around me. The 360 shortages are pretty serious.
