I don't know why people think just because it's going to be powerful means it's going to be way more expensive than the 3DS.  Remember, the PSP2 is most likely going without the 3D screen, something thats helped drive the 3DS price up.  And Sony definitely knows that price is going to be important if they want to compete against Nintendo.  In the end, I think they will be the same price, with maybe the PSP2 being $50 more.  So 3DS: $249-299  and PSP2 $299-349. 

This pretty much sums it up... Only problem though is just how much will that cost them as PS2 launched at 300, PSP was 250...

You have no idea how right you are about how stupid this layout look, i just took my PS3 con and hold it upside down. Not comfortable at all. just copy the Dualshock layout

They did beat it in hardware aspect ( at least it looks like they did). I remember people actually saying 3Ds has a chance of being more powerfull than PSP 2.

Jeebus I was about to moan about the picture too until I read the thread! If that was the official PSP2 that is one awkward ass controll system there. Price tag will be interesting, and it does come down to that, if it'll be more expensive than 3DS it'll likely be in the same pickle as X360 VS PS3 right now. Got assraped at the start but slowly started to gain momentum with revisions/price cuts etc.

I don't know though, depends what the Japanese adapt, the handheld market is massive over there ._...

As of now I think it has a shot at outselling PSP WW figure. Whereas I think 3DS will struggle to top DS numbers, although it's not at all impossible. Just shooting into the dark here.

PS, Since I dont have the time to read the article in detail, do you guys think that PSP2 will be backward compatible with the PSP games?

anyone played infinity blade on iphone will know its not imposible to get a ps3 graphics or better on a small screen .. dont believe me then go and try it.
