Forums - Nintendo - 3ds battery life is 3-5 hours ...just like the DS-i

I got tired of hearing people screaming that the DSi battery per charge lets u play 15 hours, well guess what the 3DS too, in fact take a look at this , it comes from a Kotaku article.

 Battery Life
Nintendo DSi: The lowest brightness (9-14 hrs), low brightness (8-12 hours), medium brightness (6-9 hours), high brightness (4-6 hours), highest brightness(3-4 hours)
Nintendo DS Lite: The lowest brightness (15-19 hrs), low brightness (10-15 hours), high brightness (7-11 hours), highest brightness(5-8 hours)

I think i made my point... the 3 to 5 hours of the 3DS should be a mention to the  console working with the highest bright.

Please help to spread the word on this matter.

Alot of people here won't care. They just want to read what they want to doom Nintendo or just find a flaw to downplay the entire system because it's Nintendo.

I find it kinda odd that the reference for the DSi in highest brightness is 3-4 hours.

My DSi XL lasts much more than 4 hours in highest brightness, even with the Wi-Fi turned on. With Wi-Fi turned off, it can go up to 7 hours.

Current PC Build

CPU - i7 8700K 3.7 GHz (4.7 GHz turbo) 6 cores OC'd to 5.2 GHz with Watercooling (Hydro Series H110i) | MB - Gigabyte Z370 HD3P ATX | Gigabyte GTX 1080ti Gaming OC BLACK 11G (1657 MHz Boost Core / 11010 MHz Memory) | RAM - Corsair DIMM 32GB DDR4, 2400 MHz | PSU - Corsair CX650M (80+ Bronze) 650W | Audio - Asus Essence STX II 7.1 | Monitor - Samsung U28E590D 4K UHD, Freesync, 1 ms, 60 Hz, 28"

I still think that is a short time for a battery charge specially when they said that the tops it will last is 8 hours while playing DS games.

I am waiting before others have make better estimates about battery life because Nintendo always plays safe when releases numbers, if their numbers are true I will wait till the first revision of the hardware before buying one or a confirmation that the battery can be changed for a new longer lasting one latter.

The DSi XL has a larger case, so this allowed for a bigger battery being built in. That's where the discrepancy in battery life between the regular and the XL version of the DSi comes from.

Yeah and the 3DS is supposed to be around the size of a DSi, but still I've heard many people with a DSi haven't had that short of a battery life, but Nintendo talks bare minimums and usually testing over time since batteries lose charge, like my Lite has been a fighter, surviving falls and such but the battery in it is dying a slow painful (for me) death, it only lasts about 3 hours now on highest brightness, Nintendo factors things like that in I assume.

Oh I didn't knew about that XD.

Kinda makes sense though

Li-ion batteries supposedly good for 500 charges.
