You guys are on crack. Final Fantasy X is one of the best.

If you started late in the series, I can understand you'd think that.

I have been a fan of Final Fantasy for a very long time. Own, played, and beat every one.

Starting with which one?

Not in any way for me, the exploration, dialogue, music, story, scale, growth system...everything felt like a massive downgrade from FF7-9, not to mention the awful cast of characters (except Auron). The battle system stands out though.

VIII, then played V, then VI, then went back to I, II, and III....

what's so wrong with 10? ive only played 1 ,2,7,8 and 9. and i found them great especially 7 8 9

I think FF10 is acceptable. i didnt like the characters, and i thought the main villan was very weak in comparasion to other FF villains. and tbh i couldnt play FF10 now, because i simply wouldnt enjoy it. but at the time, it was the first time Square did voice acting, and they had a lot of things to contend with. but i think with Sakaguchi's leadership they did a good job.

the story wasnt bad, it got very interesting towards the end. and there was a lot of fun to be had getting the celestial weapons and breaking the damage limit for the first time, then taking down Omega Weapon and some Dark Aeons. so its not a bad game, but not a phenominal game either imho.

Kitase should NEVER ever again the producer, but the director. the team, as listed above, should lead the XV Staff.

the thing is, that the world map was one of the most important things in 1-6, and was degraded because the mainfocus in VII- XXX wasnt traveling anymore. (okay, it wasnt in V and VI either, but theyve had a similar style to the older ones). X is hated for having NO Worldmap at all, and XIII is just a path from A to Z.

so yes, the truth is, that the Worldmap was the hidden star inside the final fantasies.
