Forums - Gaming - Which has more 1080p native games? Xbox 360 or PS3?

I have roughly 13 PS3 disc based games and 1 PSN game that can play in 1080p and i've played them on different TV sizes and resolution but I mostly play on my Sony 60" LED tv and the 1080p games do look better than the 720p games. I think Borderlands is one of the best looking games that can run on 1080p, just love the artistic style of it.

Borderlands is 720p unless the PS3 upscales it to 1080p (as the 360 does to all games). Or are yoyu talking about the PC version?

You might as well ask who has the bigger penis.

Why

Because this is such a pointless thread. There's not a single game that supports 1080P which looks phenomenal on either console.

Rockstar: Announce Bully 2 already and make gamers proud!

Kojima: Come out with Project S already!

theres not that many, most are probably psn/xbl titles

although not 100% 1080p gt5 1080p variation looks absolutly incredible on my telly

...not much time to post anymore, used to be awesome on here really good fond memories from VGchartz...

PSN: Skeeuk - XBL: SkeeUK - PC: Skeeuk

really miss the VGCHARTZ of 2008 - 2013...

Resolution beyond 720p means practically nothing.

720p is beautiful enuff.

My 42" screen knows the difference. I'll take 1080p over 720p anytime, thank you.

My friend has a 720p 32inch TV, I have a 1080p 32 inch TV and boy can I tell the difference. A friend of mine commented how it looks as sharp as a stanley knife  on my 1080p TV while on the 720p TV it's not that much better than his standard def digital satellite picture quality.

how what looks sharp?  what content were you both watching?

Sky HD wont look any better on a 1080p than a 720p, the vast majority of games wont look any better on a 1080p than a 720p.

The PS3 xmb and blu-rays will look sharper because it is 1080p, but not mucn else will, especially on a small 32 inch. screen.

We were watching Luxury TV HD (Luxe TV) which is displayed in native 1080i. So it wasn't hard to tell the difference between Luxury TV HD in it's native 1080i on my TV screen and the downscaled 720 version on my friends TV. Yes even on 32 inch. In the same way I can see an obvious difference between Crysis running at 1920 x 1080 and 1280 x 720 on my 23inch monitor.

you should have made a thread named "Who actually gives a shit if a game is 1080p native or not on the HD consoles?" and have a poll with that, see the results, then decide if you want to make this thread, but no, you didn't do that, so I'm going to say, who gives a shit? everything looks terrible if not on PC outside of a few games anyways.

Wow...I know we're not supposed to use the term fanboy to insult others...but I'm really tempted to call you a PC fanboy right now.

I'm not calling you a PC fanboy, I'm just saying you're really coming off as a PC fanboy. Like I mean REALLY coming off a s a PC fanboy. If I had less restraint I'd go ahead and call you a PC fanboy.

I'm sorry that my AA is so high that I don't see jaggies anymore even on lower res on my PC? They are especially apparent when I'm playing GT5 in 3D mode and on my PC the 3D modes are jaggieless, so who gives a shit about res on consoles when you'd see artifacts no matter what? The simple issue is the consoles of this gen just don't have enough memory, or that wouldn't be as much of an issue, and now we have to rely on devs figuring out their own MLAA to make things not so rough I guess.

My point is, resolution doesn't matter when artifacts are everywhere anyways, you just make do, or I wouldn't have a fucking Wii(2 actually, lawl,) you just deal with it, good games will remain good games in the end, and I still say SMG2 as a game > all other console games this gen atm with UC2 second and SMG2 is in 480p, while UC2 is 720p and looks better than all console third person games I've seen so far.
