Resolution beyond 720p means practically nothing.

720p is beautiful enuff.

My 42" screen knows the difference. I'll take 1080p over 720p anytime, thank you.

My friend has a 720p 32inch TV, I have a 1080p 32 inch TV and boy can I tell the difference. A friend of mine commented how it looks as sharp as a stanley knife  on my 1080p TV while on the 720p TV it's not that much better than his standard def digital satellite picture quality.

how what looks sharp?  what content were you both watching?

Sky HD wont look any better on a 1080p than a 720p, the vast majority of games wont look any better on a 1080p than a 720p.

The PS3 xmb and blu-rays will look sharper because it is 1080p, but not mucn else will, especially on a small 32 inch. screen.

We were watching Luxury TV HD (Luxe TV) which is displayed in native 1080i. So it wasn't hard to tell the difference between Luxury TV HD in it's native 1080i on my TV screen and the downscaled 720 version on my friends TV. Yes even on 32 inch. In the same way I can see an obvious difference between Crysis running at 1920 x 1080 and 1280 x 720 on my 23inch monitor.
