Wii 15 million
PS3 14 million
X360 13 million

Wii will drop to $149
PS3 will cost $249
X360 will cost $179 and $249 (149/199 Euro in Europe)

Stealing your formatting, I'll say...

Wii 15 million
360 14 million
PS3 13 million

PS3 will drop $100 across the board for every SKU in the summer/fall
360 and Wii will hold their prices and value add (ie: bundle) instead

2011 could be the year Wii tops 100M and when it does everyone should congratulate it as it will be the first non playstation console to hit 100M!.

In addition, it'll also be the fastest home console to hit 100m, and the only one to ever manage it without a system refresh/redesign.

Also you forgot to mention it has had no 3rd party support either, well not as much as the other 2.  I think it will do 90M in June might I add.

$100 drop for PS3? You really think they can afford to do that without operating at a loss?

OT: I think if Wii cuts the price again and has similar monster holiday, it has a shot at being up YoY, not by much but by a small margin. PS3 will likely be up YoY, but I am not 100% sure considering the first months of 2010 included the Slim effect, maybe the exclusives can compensate a bit. 360 will definitely be up YoY, likely only dropping a few times below the YoY up until June(ie the slim release)

Wether they can afford it or not, I think Sony will need to do it to keep from falling behind Microsoft.  Slim and Kinect have really revitalized 360, while PS3's slim effect is somewhat faded and Move was total non-starter.

Then again, Sony also has to launch PSP2 this year (likely at a loss on hardware upfront) so who knows how things will shake out?  If they don't drop $100 on PS3 though, I think their declines this year will echo Nintendo's.

Yeah but they are also launching a phone AND a PSP2 this year, I don't think that the shareholders will be too happy if it slips back into red again, too much in the year to warrant such a high drop! $50 will be a lucky thought, well in my opinion anyway, although I'd like a $199 PS3, would definitely pick one up at that price.

Well you almost stole my numbers too.

PS3 dropping to $199 while X360 remaining at $299 is crazy talk though.

Could you imagine that, what would that look like. PS3 dropping $400 from release and the Xbox360 only $100!

Xperia Play will be sold at a profit or subsidized by carriers.  It's also Sony Ericson's deal, SCE doesn't have to worry about it really.

I hadn't really considered PSP2 fully though... yeah, it may only end up being a $50 cut.  But I still think Sony has to cut some in 2011 to keep from falling behind.

lol!  The numbers just needed some tweaking. ;)

360 will value add in response to any PS3 drop.  I'm half expecting Microsoft to do away the the Kinect bundles and just start including Kinect in every regular SKU (like Nintendo did with Motion Plus, and now the Wiimote Plus).  They'll do an effective $100 drop that way without actually having a price drop, like they did with the Pro/Elite last year.

I think Nintendo will bundle too, probably a 2nd Wiimote Plus and maybe some different game bundles (DKCR, Mario Kart, etc).  I think a Wii Fit Plus hardware bundle could be huge too.
