Wish someone would offer me a good trade in deal for my Wii.

Its not rly an "upgrade" as such in turms of games i thnk they mean more an upgrade for a technology kind of level. Of which the wii it very lacking :/

I would never trade my Wii for a console I would be much less interested. And LOL at HD contents that someone here brought up.

Japanese have the biggest TV HD base and nobody gives a shit about HD consoles there.  HD gaming does not interest.

No one gives a shit about GD console? maybe not the xbox but the ps3is doing just fine xD

Because of many reasons, but when you buy a console you really don't know what'll happen with its line up: DS had a ugly 1st year, but then it turned out to be one of the best systems for its line up. While GC started with some great exclusives and then died in 3 years. Anyway I'm not denying X360 or PS3 are more powerful than the Wii, I'm denying that this means being an upgrade, because they don't offer the same experience of the Wii, they're just more powerful.

The normal population looks at powerful systems as upgrades. Simple.

Xbox and PS2 did the same thing, one did a slightly better job at graphics I believe.

Wii and the 360/PS3, there are many things that HD console can do that wii can't. Many. So, to the people who want to get an HD system because it can play games or for kinect or for blu-ray along with gaming or for even Call of duty, this can be a good deal.

Not all people are fanboys.

I would then ask the retailers "Can I play Super Smash Bros. on the PS3?"   Because if i could, I would get one just for it.

Maybe for the exclusives (those who wanted all experiences on all consoles) and also because "best" is relative. I may have found Gamecube lineup best last generation, most others found PS2.

That's funny, because I actually wish retailers would get rid of the all these PS3s and 360s. I think it would be good for the industry and really help 3rd parties. I know this sounds cliche, but many people i know couldn't care less about HD graphics and just bought their HD TVs because they look better in their living room. Without PS3s and 360s, game development budgets would get back to more sane levels and many more 3rd parties would be in the black again.
