Excellent numbers! Kinect is doing well above MS' expectations!

Just some added info. Looks like the number is somewhere between 5 million and 8 million

So I'm right after all... that was very clear from the beginning.

I guess the real sold numbers are between 6-7 Million... amazing anyway.

Microsoft has clarified to me that the 8 million KInect number is sell in, or how many were shipped to retailers. Not sell thru.

Forecast for Kinect was 5 mln units sold thru to customers. Microsoft says it `far surpassed' the 5 mln sell thru forecast but no exact #

Going forward, Microsoft says it will return to reporting sell in numbers for Kinect, which is what it has always done for consoles.



So they won't be reporting sell-through anymore?

With Kinect being undertracked so much,I'm starting to wonder how off VGchartz is with the 360 HW.

Not so much... Microsoft said Xbox 360 sold (aka shipped) over 50 million... so VGC data is on spot now.... over 50 million.

Maybe Kinect sales is more to existing users and not new ones.

MS also said it's biggest year(=last 3 month) of 360,so 2010 Q2 shipment looks like will over 2008 Q2(=6m)

Unless they shipped all 8 million in the US, yes Mr Greenberg.
