Forums - Sales - 8 Million Kinect sold world wide

http://www.gamefocus.ca/?nav=new&nid=12311
Amazing numbers but that clarification sums everything up about sold to consumers vs customers. No doubt kinect is undertracked but I don't think its up to over 8mil sold. While this is just a website stating their opinion over the matter, I agree with it. I don't think microsoft would have been able to find out the sold to customer numbers that quickly. Either way I'm sure in the next few weeks we will find out exactly how much it sold.

Our 1 million and 2.5 million seem to agree it's sold to consumer.

I get that 99% of time companys reveal shipped sales, but like I said before, Microsoft made a big deal of emphasising this was sold to the consumer in their home.

It is very likely shipped, unless they specifically say retail sales...regardless, that's is pretty darn incredible, since M$ had projected 5 million units originally...I think it's now safe to call Kinect a massive hit!

8 million Kinect sensors sold worldwide in first 60 days -- that's 3 million more than Microsoft had planned. Not bad. Microsoft also announced 30 million Xbox Live members and 50 million units sold worldwide with the Xbox 360 outselling all other consoles for the last 6 months in the US. Not bad at all

Good question about the gold but I don't think we we'll ever know. 30 million without reference sounds better.

Psrock- hey you think you can give me back my candy cane. Do me a favor and wash it off, it's been in there for  a while and I'm all good for the 30 sec. rule but it's been way over that. LOL

It's they shipped 8 million to retail and they sold more than 5 million to consumers. Selling more than 5 million beats what they told their investors.

Just want to play good games

Didn't Microsoft say that half of the 25 million xbox live members where gold members so around 12.5 million are actually gold members they said it in early December of 2010.  So it's probably around 15 million right now seeing how it's at 30 million right now.
