Well, he basically saying it'll be 8 million sold to consumers before the winter months are over. Which will definitely be true. By the end of February those 8 million shipped with be 8 million SOLD to consumers. That's like 2 million Kinects for each month since it's launch on nov 4th. Not bad for a new add-on piece of hardware. Usually these things don't sell this well. SEGA CD and 32X both didn't sell that great after release. We all know how well the EyeToy did.

Pachter says that they sold 7 million to consumers. Divinch says they sold 6.5 million to consumers. Both said they didn't think it would sell that much.

If anything we might have overtracked 360 (by a small margin, I assume within the margin of error), and undertracked kinect (by a large margin).
