Well it clearly depends how much over 50m they are talking about... I doubt VGC is much off, but I expect we will see an upward adjustment for the 360 by late January.  The NPD thread will be a monster this month.

Kinect sales to existing owners?  Have you been paying attention the last few weeks?... you do know the 360 sold 1m for 2 weeks straight right?  I'm pretty sure a lot of new adopters are down to Kinect, and so it will continue through 2011.

 

I meam the difference... VGC undertracked Kinect but not 360... so the 1-2 million under here was just for Kinect and not for 360.... so maybe these case sold to existing users.

You don't know how much they've shipped yet .. if it's 52 mill shipped then we're likely spot on. 53 million or higher and it starts getting etchy.

If 52m ou 53m Microsoft would have said "more than 52m" or "over 53m".

This is fairly simple... so Microsoft shipped between 50,000,001 and  50,999,999.

Not nessaccerily, even source said in the article they said 50 mill plus for effect. I doubt they had their biggest ever holiday by only 500k more.

Someone gave a link in the News Post to IGN apparently the 8million Kinects was shipped, still an impressive number, though IGN also said they dont know if 5 million was reached... errr 3 million arent on the shelves... I can guarantee this -.-

Thats impossible surely.

Kinect is bundled...  so if they have underscored the Kinect then they surely must have underscored the 360 somewhat.

No if ioi tracked fine all Kinect bundled with 360... bundled with console is more easy to track than standalone.

If 360 was undertracked here then the VGC data > M shipped data... that's impossible.

See this is what I got from MS' press conference. They said they have been ahead for 6months. Who are they competing against in these numbers, is it just PS3 then VGC will have the hardware order correct, but if it is wii as well, something was wrong.

Most likely shipped, but that's still probably about 6.5 million that have been sold to consumers. So Microsoft definitely reached their goal of selling 5 million by the end of the year. Good news. They should be able to do 10 million in 2011.
