Forums - Nintendo - So was Epic Mickey successful?

I've seen plenty of games get passes for similar problems with this game, so I wouldn't call the reviews trustworthy of how successful this is.

A flashy-first game is awesome when it comes out. A great-first game is awesome forever.

Plus, just for the hell of it: Kelly Brook at the 2008 BAFTAs

It's on the Wii and it's decent enough.  It will sell a lot.  From a sales point of view it will be fine.

BOOM!  FACE KICK!

It got decent to great reviews.

Sold well over a million in just a few weeks and (I think) will have good legs.

It would be pretty hard to argue that it hasn't been a success so far.

I would say yes with a small voice.. But the legs will probably make it be YES

pretty successful I'd say. Why didn't they release a japanese version yet though? I hear Disney characters are quite popular there.

I suspect they will probably localize it and release it in Japan eventually ...

The critical reception is disappointing, just because the stuff the game screwed up was stuff that amateurs really screw up, though i suppose games like Final Fantasy XIV help prove that even the most experienced devs can make amateurish mistakes (in its incomprehensible UI, and Epic Mickey's worse-than-Mario-64 camera)

Monster Hunter: pissing me off since 2010.

According to VGC data after 5 weeks in PAL region and 4 weeks on the NA market Epic Mickey is already on #78 of bestselling Wii games (out of 1072 Wii games tracked on VGC). In one or two weeks it will have sold more than 1.5 million copies and already be in the top 50.

I think LT it will sell more than 3 million copies and become one of the bestselling 3rd party games on Wii, i.e. there's a chance it will end up in top 30 bestselling Wii games and top 10 bestselling 3rd party Wii games.

So yes, in my opinion it's definitely a successful game.

It was undoubtebly successful.

I haven't seen Spector commenting on it though.

I LOVE ICELAND!

Well since this site has yet to gain more respectibility, NPD numbers are usually used for these comments.

I'd love to hear from Spector about the sales of the game... The last thing I remember from him was saying he was "kinda jazzed" by the mixed reviews... and while I can understand where he's coming from as a creator, I hope Disney are more "jazzed" about the sales

Until you've played it, every game is a system seller!
