PS3 already outselling 360/Wii this year (by a good margin)... so nothing.
But a price cut and AAA Move games will make better.

it needs to make use of its user posted ideas on the blog.
just look at the amount of ideas with thousands of ratings that are just sitting there. most of them require minimal effort but make ps3 much better but their simply not doing it.
their just doing what they were going to do anyway and see if its on the list to check it off.....it should be the other way around.
It needs a better operating system/update scheme. Jesus Christ, I plugged in my unit for the first time and it was 90 minutes before the system updates and LBP updates were finished so I could, you know, play a FREAKING GAME.
Ridiculous. I don't think I spent that much combined time on 360 updates in four years, not to mention that most 360 updates are background downloads and I can continue setting up the device while it downloads.
After dealing with that clusterfuck, I'm now looking at buying a new 360 (sold mine a bit ago) just for multi-plats. That's how bad the PS3 "experience" was for me last night. I'd rather drop another $300 for a system that doesn't piss me off. Obviously, I'll keep the PS3 because I want to play the exclusives but after wanting to play last night and wasting the majority of the night updating, I'm probably going to buy a 360 for all non-exclusive PS3 games.

why does it need to outsell the other two? its already like the 5th or 6th all time best selling console.

He who hesitates is lost
PS3 just needs a price cut, onces its under £180 and $200, it will shift fast, i know ill be first in line to replace mine with a slim, and put the phat in the spare room.
| CGI-Quality said: Not really too much it can do at this point. It's the last place console of the gen, and with the way things currently stand, that doesn't seem to be changing anytime soon. They're definitely putting up a better fight now than ever before, but to win this gen, it's too little, too late. They need to sit on this loss, continue to strongly support their console, and perform better business decisions for the next iteration of consoles. They aren't down for the count, but the PS3 will probably remain in 3rd the rest of the gen (despite some weeks/months where it may win here or there because of price cuts and/or temporary boosts from new software). |
Those are bold words considering we don't have any shipments for Q1 to confirm EMEA sales number.
So far PS3 is doing much better than expected in Americas and completly dominated Japan. If things continue at current pace outselling X360 is only a matter of time. And that's without reaching much more consumer friendly $200 price range.

A $50 price cut in the fall or winter would certainly boost sales. I don't see a $100 price drop coming though.
